About This File

A large base-style level with a lot of extra patches, textures, and sprites. Also something of an Episode One recreation.

it's very system shock + claustrophobia.wad w/o any cover or run space. It's like a roller coaster of rip roaring pain, especially if you put custom monsters to hunt you down on alert. Overall, it's a very good level, which the design guarantees certain death if one does not take precaution (that includes hidden sniper walls, yes, that's a bitch). Yes, there are space areas too. ~3/5

This is dated March 1999. It's a tech / moonbase, and I hated it; the ammo balance is far too spartan, so that even though there are 83 monsters, you have to snipe with the plasma gun - which now fires an ugly-looking fluorescent purple turd instead of a plasma bolt.

Great map - very attractive design. Regarding ammo balance: you are given a berserk early on, so you've no problems as long as you think of using it. It is a weapon, you know.

This is one of these levels that are more than just about killing monsters. You explore a realistic moon base that is very believable thanks to the use of many new textures and Boom features. The atmosphere is incredible (I used hrmus.wad with idmus29 to enhance it). It's a good challenge too: you have to be very careful with your ammo and use berserk pack. Fantastic experience and a great showcase of what Boom is capable of.

Liked it a lot, shame it wasn't longer or part of a pack.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
