About This File

The installation program was written by Olivier Montanuy (author of DeuTex and DeuSF... two very fine Doom utilities) and has been modified to work with Doom 2 by Jason Mezzacca. You'll need about about 2.5 megs of extra disk space to install. The installation will *not* change your doom2.wad nor will it change doom2.exe so there will be no need to uninstall it to play Doom normally again. The levels used for the normal A-TC game are map11 through map18, and map31 as the secret level. Map01 and map02 were used for the two bonus levels. If there are any problems with the installation, you can contact me at 72510.3424@compuserve.com. Please, do not bother Justin or Olivier about it... if there's a problem, it's most likely my fault.

I can only review the regular Doom version and its one of the best ever! Definitely check it out. Could never get the Doom 2 one to work right, unfortunately.

I'm sorry, this wad just have too many errors to begin with. I like the other versions better (the doom version?). At least, those fix gaming issues. ~0/5

Great level, especially for 16 years ago(!). It's atmospheric and really opened the door for how Doom could be changed and expanded upon. Just a fun set of levels.

The number of times I've played this wad is a testament to how much I love it.

Kinda sad how many shitty noobs downrate this, failing to see that it was created in 1994! Justin Fisher was able to do an incredible amount of tricks in vanilla DOOM 2, many of which no one had thought of before. This wad is nothing less than legendary. 5/5

^ Yeah, I don't really know too much about this wad, but there is nothing debatable about what this wad did, how popular it is/was, or how much impact it had on the community. This TC is, by the very definition of the word legendary, legendary. 5/5

Although I had issues with this D2 port I could see the effort that went into this and it must've been mind blowing back in 94! Legendary stuff.

You need to convert the binary deh to a plain text deh in order to use this with most ports. Then it should work fine. Here's one I made earlier: http://gkburgess.mys ite.wanadoo-members. co.uk/ATC2TXT.zip (remove any spaces from the url)

I'm going to get flamed for this, but, for all its fame and prominence, this TC sucks. It has not aged well at all, and I hate seeing those puddles in the air and punching in IDCLIP just to walk from one room to the next that's supposed to be passable. After the immoblization by all the faulty textures caused me to die trying to get the red key on the fourth level, I just gave up.

Legendary, although quite unconventional by Doom standards even in 1994. I never got it to run quite right back in the day, due to my 1.666 exe :-(

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.
