About This File

You're making your way through an icy region and are nearly crushed when some ice caverns collapse. Eventually you make your way out only to find yourself trapped in a long deserted temple complex. The gates are enchanted and cannot be opened. You decipher an inscription that tells you that you must pass through three portals to remove the barriers that will allow you to leave. : This is a one-level "mini-hub." You'll need to complete each of three different areas (order doesn't matter) to finish it. : To run it, you'll need an enhanced version of the Heretic engine such as wHeretic. You can download it here: http://www.raven-games.com/wheretic/

The idea of 3 mini-levels in one sounds nice, but there are several problems with that : each level has its own style, but suffers from repetitive texturing; and giving all weapons in start makes it kinda too easy given the 3 areas themselves, filled with too much ammo (skill 4). However a bit of level rework can make it really good and challenging. For now, 3/5. ~Naan

Once upon a time, this was one of the first maps I downloaded and played from here. I thought it was amazing then. Now, I see how it's flawed: never really enough monsters in one place to make death seem imminent. I played the "cliffs" area first, so I got the Phoenix Rod early, which should have been replaced with the Mace anyway because there is not a single boss enemy.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?
