This is a combination of Ritenour's early space levels, his Phobos wad, and a few new faces. It's also one of my chief inspirations. The ambience and little tricks all throughout make you feel like you're in a 60's sci-fi-novel adventure. Unfortunately the monster-placement gets pretty random so the gameplay doesn't always match, but the settings make it more than worth it.

Plays like ass but worth running around in to check out Ritenour's trademark visual trickery.

That's l33t, best spaceship maps ever, you can look through the window and see a glowing engines and gun turrets (sprite based, but made so well that they look 3d, faux light sourcing enchances this feeling). Loads of atmosphere. Great usage of silent teleporters (cool spiral staircases). However, there are few glitches playing on 2.0.96 - sky is b0rked and looks like mess, and silent teleporter in first phobos level is also b0rked. And again, why nazis in space? Still 5/5 -- Brun Ohn

XWEed the MAPINFO to make it happy with r1510 of GZDoom. Played Earth and Phobos previously but these new maps and reworks are incredible. My jaw dropped when I saw the glowing engines. And the lighting! Cutscenes after nearly every level lead to an unusually rich story for a Doom pack, music sounds great with soundfonts or via OPL. You get a cool ship, too. Solid fun with vanilla gameplay and ungodly intense with Brutal Doom b17. Why didn't this thing make the Top 100 all those years ago? (5/5)

NOTE: There are compatibility issues with newer ZDoom versions and the MAPINFO. You'll need to use SLUMPed or XWE to remove the ".mus" at the end of every song in the MAPINFO lump. Aside from that, 5/5

Great Details and Attempt at Realism :) One of
the more realistic looking DooM wads.

This WAD is one of the most unique WADs I've played so far. I love how everything is built up and how much thought the author put into making it/everything work. After 4 years I still remember most of the maps. There are not too many monsters either, but still enough to make it fairly difficult! Well done

Pretty good. The combat was fun and design wasn't bad at all.

Despite its age, nice details and well designed. Way how blue key is hidden is really clever. But map is dark and cramped. Enemies are only imps and hitscanners.

Pretty good map in E1 base style (except Doom2 monsters) Nice design but there some texture alignment issues.

Despite the browns and grays that are prominent in this megaWAD, I found it to be fun. I also found it to be quite the challenge. The first map gives you a taste of what to expect in terms of enemy encounters. The author makes good use of mid-tier enemies to apply pressure on the player. Monster count for most of the maps barely breaks the 150 mark but, as said before, the use of mostly mid-tier enemies puts pressure on the player. I also like how the megaWAD handles level progression. Most of the levels you go through consist of caves, cities, islands, and tech bases in space. In fact, there's only one real Hell-like level and even it's within the confines of the moon base you fight through in maps 21 - 30.   About the only gripes I have with this megaWAD are with regards to maps 32, 29, and 30. I know the text file and map 31 give warnings about map 32 but there really should be some kind of alternate exit in map 32 instead of trapping you in place if you don't pass one of the puzzles. I wasn't a fan of how close quarters the IoS fight was in map 29, especially since it can get cramped quickly with monster spawns. Finally, the randomization of what keys spawn during your escape in map 30 isn't fun either. 10 minutes seems like plenty of time but between navigating the vent system (again) without light goggles and dealing with mid-tier enemies, that 10 minutes can get eaten up really quick.   Overall, it's still a fun megaWAD. I'd recommend at least giving it a shot.
