About This File

This is my first ZDoom project and this hub haves 4 levels. It haves many ACS scripts too.

Early ZDoom hub with most of the usual problems that came with the then-new format. The gameplay is barebones, the rooms are cramped and orthogonal, the colored sectors are eye-searingly oversaturated, and the stealth monsters don't really add much. Considering just how far ZDoom scripting has come in the 23 years since Hell Factory's release, there's actually a charmingly shitty quality to Hell Factory the same way there is for the most primitive 1994 PWADs. The "weapon" that blows the locked door open is the most ZDoomCute thing I've ever seen.

A major strike against this WAD is a game-breaking progression bug towards the end. There is a one-way elevator in the Nukage Area that leads to a locked room with a switch. If you avoid pressing this switch before leaving the room, then the door will not open again and you'll have to noclip to continue. This really should've been caught in playtesting, but most people will probably avoid it.

Well considering when this was made I think it is very good indeed, shame you never made a sequel

Better than Tei Tenga, but there is a bug on some map. Update code? ~3/5

I've started to play your level in gzdoom-1.4.0. After the message about the nukage area the player is transfered in sort of a hole in floor from where there's no way to escape. Hope you can fix this bug. Thank you

Not much to be thrilled about here. Wad is fairly easy to get thru, even on ultra violence and nightmare. Its worth playing once, but it isnt something you'll come back to craving more.

This was a really cool wad. The level design is excellent. The only problem is that you can move around and get injured during the cutscenes. 4.5/5

I would give it 4.5 stars, but I have to pick
between 4 and 5 so I just picked 4.

The second popular hub to come out, this one beats Tei Tenga in every way. It's a real shame only Hub 1 was ever finished. Anyway you've got to play this! 5/5!

I'll give it a 4. It's a nice zdoom hub if you're into scripted hubs. If not, than it'll probably bore you :) -TeH NeXuS

Nice work, reminds me of doom 3 in the sense that you have to retrace steps at some points. _Your Face

This is the spiritual successor to Tei Tenga. Same concept but this time level design and architecture are greatly superior, while the play is minimally at least as good. A real example of something that would practically be good and up to date even today.

Lotsa fun. All my favourite zdoom features, including my favourite sliding door. And excellent scripting. 5/5

Five Stars. Nicely done, except for one bug I encountered: Whenever I entered the Nukeage Area, I seem to be sunken into the floor, and I can see the main room of the destroyed base underneath the floor. If I idclip, I pop right up so it's not really a big deal to me. - Kochipahk

This wad is a classic. This is what got me into ZDoom. I downloaded this map years ago and it still holds up today. In the immortal words of Borat, 'Very Nice.' 5/5

To fix the nukage area bug on newer versions of zdoom, add +gennodes 1 to the zdoom command line. Enjoy your non-broken hellfact!

Support 3 bars came down and locked me in part of the sewer. Maybe a script is messed up. Other than that pretty nice.

I liked it a lot. Gets a little tricky at times, but it's a fun, high action level... few archviles, plenty of imps, barons, and hell knights. Perfectly balanced gameplay too.

This would be fantastic if it weren't for all those gosh-darn invisible monsters.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
