About This File

It is a fight every step of the way, and (IMHO) more what one might have expected of e2m1, from the beating you take at the end of the 1st mission. It's got some pretty tricky things in it...but the overall difficulty I'd rate at about 60%-80% (doable). The next installments will be much more difficult. I really want to add a Metallica soundtrack to the whole level to set a more, er, violent tone (this may come along as I find time... any takers?) Let me know what you think (constructive criticism and voluminous praise much more welcome than flames!)

Not bad attempt. Architecture is simple, decoration absent, but gameplay @ UV is for that time nicely strong - and manageable. Overall rated as 1994 map: 3* average.

A suprisingly good effort for a '94 map. Sure my cats vomit looks better than it but its gameplay is fast, furious and action packed. Certainly worth a download if you don't mind the lack of detail 3/5 - phil1984

A tech map with lots of ammo for lots of monsters. Very violent, and very fun. There are some attempts at varying the architecture, including a nice "pyramid" section, but the whole thing still feels very bare. That doesn't matter too much, though, since you're constantly fighting. The difficulty is pretty firmly in the medium category, unless you find some of the many secrets, in which case it gets much easier. The ending seemed a little stupid. --3/5

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
