About This File

This level is basically a large arena where you get to test your skills against all the monsters, and very large amounts of them too. It's meant to be completed without saving, but you probably have to train and try different tactics before you manage that. The order in which different monsters are released is very non-linear, and you need to find the order that works best for you. This gives the level an element of strategy. Unless you play at the easy difficulty settings, you will not get enough ammo to kill everyone yourself, so you need to get the monsters to kill each other. This is everyones fight against everyone else. Will you be the survivor?

Note that the level is located on map29 (to get the right sky and music). Run with -warp 29, or use the cheat IDCLEV29.

Wouldn´t have hurt to put in more resources on UV, and the archviles near end are an overused clichee, but I like these kind of maps so 4/5

Basically it's "Serious Sam Doom", a large square arena into which a load of monsters teleport. Fun on that level, although there are lots like it, and it's marred by a too-long introduction that doesn't fit the rest of the level. It's easy to get trapped underground in this bit if you are too enthusiastic when hunting for secrets.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
