About This File

This Patch Wad supplies DOOM with 9 new replacement levels for episode 2, built completely from scratch using DEU 5.21, DMAUD 1.1 and DMGRAPH 1.0, plus many home-made custom utilities. (see credits below) Time to complete this patch: 200+ hours.

For you beginner doomies - sorry, no time to add easy settings - over 200 hours were already logged into this one. If you really need help, use IDDQD (god mode) or IDKFA (very happy ammo) to get things to go your way. (P.S. these cheats DON'T work in multiplayer modes!)

strange textures/sounds, very good layouts for old E2 mapset though.

You know what's really cool? Finding a new episode replacement. You know what really sucks dogs balls? Finding out its full of idiotic cartoon replacement sounds. WTF makes anyone think it adds to gameplay? Annoying beyond tolerance.

Pretty mediocre. Good for 1994 but it's just so... bleh. 2.5 / 5

A highly personal 1994 episode. The news sounds are not for everyone. Music is good. Technical quality is great. (spotted 1 hom on purpose in lvl1) The third level is the most beautiful. It's design isn't so great compared with the first two. Those are perhaps the best of the whole episode. 27 and 29 are the worst. 26 has great design on paper but it didn't work. The other 3 are good despite some ugly wall images. Gameplay isn't great. 22 is good with fast. Intriguing set 4.5/5 coldfusio

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
