About This File

On a far away colony world, a temple was discovered which marked the border between our reality and another, far more sinister dimension which you've already been to a couple of time. We like to call that dimension "Hell." This temple, which was known as the "Temple of Water", was clean and pure, holding the evil in check. UAC sent marines and soldiers to guard it, restoring the old temple amd living there like the monks who had originally abandonded it long ago. Well, we _think_ they abandonded it... we're really not too sure, our scientists are still working on the books they've found in remarkable condition in the temple's libraries.

A very large, beautiful, map. Needs more ammo, and more weapons considering you're using only the basic shotgun and the chaingun to mow down armies of hell. The SSG is at the end of the map, and by the time you get you're like "Where was this thing a few minutes ago?". Not legendary, but pretty darn good.

Large, detailed and diverse map. Many narrow corridors, two large courtyards and many nice details like hospital, chapel and toilets. Check out the cool faux light sourcing. Overall map looks really great. Gameplay is bit exhausting, basically there is only shotgun and chaingun in use, so you must mow all cacodemon squadrons and imp armies with them (did I mention, that map sometimes getting crowded?). SSG is available almost at the end of level. Maybe not legendary, but very good 4/5 -- Brun Ohn

Pff. Large and detailed architecture, but the gameplay is tedious for the reasons mentioned above; you have a shotgun and chaingun against hundreds of imps, and later on cacodemons. It feels more like mowing a very large lawn than playing a game.

      Aside from a couple of stinkers (I'm looking at you, maps 20 and 33), this was a pretty fun and challenging map set to play through. For the time limit imposed in order to make these maps, they're of pretty nice quality, I think. While I wasn't the biggest fan of the (in my opinion) overusage of Arch-Viles and Revenants, it was still a fair challenge.

      Disregard earlier review server error caused me to download the incorrect file. So what do I like? The textures combined with the sharp lighting contrast between heavy dark and rather bright areas. What I don't like is the rather empty feeling level with large rooms and corridors filled with medium tier enemies on Ultra Violence, i.e cacodemons and hellknights, while only given a shotgun and chaingun. The issue with this is that encounters become more tedious than dangerous. I would add a super shotgun or spread out the medium tier enemy placement. The level detailing leaves a lot to be desired with the large empty grey rooms/corridors reminding me more of Half-Life than Doom. With some more detailing and better monster/weapon placement I would rank this higher but as it stands this level leaves a lot to be desired.
