This was E4M2 of HEROES.WAD. It's supposed to be a puzzle map, but it just ends up playing like that "frustrating wad clichés" jokemap I remember from a few years back. The HEROES redux has fairer gameplay and better graphics, so stick with that one. 1/5

I don't know why, but I find this pretty interesting. I'll give it 3 stars

Old and lousy, but I think I see what the designer was trying to do here. The different traps and "instant death" wrong turns feel like an old text adventure using the Doom mechanics, the kind of game where the wrong action did indeed lead to your immediate messy demise. This WAD is an attempt to recreate that atmosphere. Sounds good on paper, but as a level it's all but unplayable without cheating - the clues are just too subtle, or nonexistent in some cases. Of historical interest only.

Inetersting ideas, but poor realisation. This map is very cramped and contains all sorts of traps; it may take a few tries until you finally get things right. Extra credit for the sucky "poem" (or whatever it is) in the .txt. --1/5

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.
