About This File

This is your average DOOM level; it doesn't have any extremely detailed lighting, no extremely detailed architecture, but it still looks kinda nice. The idea with this map was that it would be fast to make the surroundings so that I could use more time to design the gameplay. The design is "effective" in that it doesn't contain perverse amount of linedefs. It is stuff that looks good but still is fast to draw. Keep It Simple Stupid, like. The reason for this is the most recent thing I made (nightwing) that took like 6 months to complete but still turned out to be crap. It had awesome architecture, but the gameplay was lacking. Well, anyway, this should be enjoyable ;)

fun map, slightly TOO fair in terms of difficulty - a lot of the encounters revolve around imps and hell knights arriving through single destination teleporters and are easily defused. then again, I ran past all the spiders, lol

10-minutes map. Looks like a quite rectangular metal-based 1995-style map, which is not very original, but ambiance is good. Monster popup is done via several wall teleports, which is acceptable for a level of this size. Doors should be unpegged, secrets might be revised, and at a few places gameplay logic has hiates. Having said this, gameplay @ UV is remarkably well done. Not too difficult, but fun. Not legendary at all, but solid 4/5 in its class, so absolutely worth a play.

Excellent stand-alone map. Plenty of places to explore with a steady combat pace, this one's reasonably challenging but never overbearing with cheap ambushes or spam. Ammo/health resources are well-balanced with the present Hellspawn. A joy to play. 5/5

That was pretty good. It's simple, but the gameplay is solid.

Excellent! I loved every minute of this. Most of the 13 secrets were easy to spot, but one or two I needed the iddt cheat to find. The rocket launcher secret was found purely by accident. There are some errors like the unpegged doors, but didn't spoil the game-play. 4/5

Excellent letter, and as the author says it's much better than his previous one. This is a techbase with a decent level of detail, but the gameplay shines; it's not too tough, but there's just enough ammo and health. It manages to have a lot of close-quarters fighting without feeling cramped. I finished it in 25:04 and had 25:04 of fun. I didn't find a single one of the 13 secrets.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?
