About This File

This level has a definite eastern look & feel. This is my 10th level, and contains some corrupted town blocks. Your town has been invaded by these vulcanic demons appearing from underground, and only you could hide and stay alive, now that the bulk of invasion has left, you want to kill the rest for revenge.

A really interesting level, pretty intricate and with a strong exploration key on the gameplay. Also really good theme and design of the map, really enjoyed the sector arches and detail touches in the map... I really enjoyed it!

Excellently difficult level with lots of branching and which requires a cautious play. It took me way more than an hour to complete it, simply because of its challenge and size. Highly nonlinear and it's possible you need to be lucky to find the best items first (on first play) or know the locations in advance. Really like the "eastern look and feel" as well.

Not as hard as afterlife, but still you have to watch out on ammo and find Berseker Pack as fast as you can.

This is a competent level that is marred by a very tight ammo supply; otherwise the architecture is simple and atmospheric, and there's a lot of action. But the ammo situation is frustrating. There are a couple of berzerk packs, but you have to blip off single chaingun shots to get to them. Ultimately this gets boring. An even bigger bummer is the fact that most of the level is a winding maze; it's a fairly tough challenge, but a bland one.

Almost no ammo and loads of enemies that attack you from behind? No, thanks.

so-so, the start looks good, but then it's a huge map with a lot of underdetailed rooms. The quality is not constant...

One of my favorite maps ever, 5/5. If you don't like being confused play COD.

I can't stand levels that make you run around like a nut, all over the place, retracing your steps over & over, just to get through. This isn't Myst, it's Doom. You're supposed to be killing monsters, not spending your time running back & forth between switches. 1 star for the effort, that's all.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
