Extensive testing done with vanilla Doom2, Zdoom, PRBoom and Legacy.
This map is part of a mini series that I am working on. This is my second release. ;)
The series is called Blind Alley and will be about eight to ten levels.
They will all be released as singles and then combined once the series is finished.
My original design as map 25, "Bloodfalls", now running on level 1.
The Boardwalk was inspired by level 24 of Eternal Doom, "Rainbow Bridge" by Chris Couleur.
Don't look for a theme on this one, I don't think there is one.
I am pretty sure this place only exists in my mind. Artistic license used freely. ;)
A nice smallish map that MIGHT be ok for DM but was never tested.
You will never have for hunt for ammo in here. That is the least of your problems.
I would love to see any lmp's done for the level. Feedback greatly appreciated.
I have been mapping for about five years. This is the second of my levels that I feel is OK for release. Maybe not the nicest map you have ever played but very fun. Detail is just enough to be nice, but the concentration here is on gameplay. Some good old fashioned run and gun in here. Stay awake however, or you could get very dead.
A Legacy version 1.40 LMP is included in the zip file.
File name: bapgbnm.lmp, The demo is a no monster walk through, showing the layout and the secrets. The teleport sequence to get the ssg is pretty interesting.
Use the following to play the demo.
c:\doom2\legacy.exe doom2.wad -file bndalyp.wad -playdemo bapgbnm
This assumes your doom2 folder is on your c: drive, and that you have the excellent Legacy port. Or you can use it from the Legacy Launcher.
