About This File

There's a story which you'll probably need to understand the plot (good lord, there's a plot?!) so read it or I might have to beat you down. It's at the bottom of this file. If you read anything, at least read that.

DO: Anything marked with a DO (such as this passage) are notes added by myself for the third (Do Over!) release.

Seemed to all work well to me. Very tough and the sound files for The Worm speaking are far too quiet, but still good fun! 4* -Phobus

Cool wad. It could have been a bit longer though. "Average", it gets 3 stars. Give this wad a shot ;) ~Rocky XIII, a french Doomer

It's good, really really good. Nice story, some humor here and there, and he worked a few zdoom features in. Oh yeah, it's fun too (can't say I like those bats though). Every few months when feeling bored, I always come back and play it again.

I think both Massmouth games need yet another do-over seeing as it's late 2011 and ZDoom/GZDoom have done their fair share to break a lot of older WAD files, including the Massmouth series. Maybe if either the ZDoom team or Graf Zahl could code for shit it wouldn't happen but I think they do it on purpose to break WADs they hate. You literally can not play Massmouth 2 anymore and good luck finding an old copy of ZDoom that will run it without bugging it up.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
