About This File

Demo level of some nice ACS effect. It demonstartes <-- IMPORTANT! READ IT! "portal" teleporters, similar to Q3A's or Unreal's teleporters. It uses ZDoom's sky box specials, so you need some of the ZDoom 1.23 beta versions or highter. The effect has some limitations though. Since the sky- box seems to be rendered always from the same angle you can't place the portal teleporters where you want them. They have to be in a 90° angle to each other Just look at the wad how to place them. I hope you like this effect. If you do, feel free to drop me a line :)

This should really be in prefabs or another directory; it's literally two square rooms back-to-back, with two dead monsters. No exit, weapons etc. It demonstrates a mocked-up portal effect with a pair of teleporters, and it does pretty much what it says (the effect might also be useful for fake security camera viewscreens). The chap's weblog is still up, but stalled in 2003; last entry about his DVD writer. It's like a microcosm of all blogs everywhere.

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.

A basic and nice looking showroom type of map where monsters are trapped inside glass prisons, no exit and no way to play this with any modern source Port like DSDA-Doom and GZDoom, but works really well in Crispy Doom. It was a pleasant experience.

Conceptually not bad, it's a pretty imposing tower with some decent lighting, but no ammo at all despite having the guns and a VERY obscure way to rise up the floor in the lava pit? That's a big downer. But overall, it's ok.

Well, the map is pretty basic. The map is quite challenging, with there being 0 ammo pickups (excluding the backpack) outside of the starting room. There are also nazis for some reason. I will give it 2 stars only because this really wasn't meant to be played to be enjoyed, but rather just a example of how to build a map in DEU.
