About This File

After all these months, I bring you my third map, Short 'n Quick 2 - and this time, it's not that Short 'n Quick :)

The look of this level may remind you a bit of Christian Hansen's 'Flay the Obscene 3', but it's actually based on the look I planned for 'The Anomaly: Part III' (which I started long long ago, but never completed). But since flayobs3.wad also happens to be one of my favourite levels, certain elements here are inspired by that level (Great job Chris, on those levels!).

The layout of the map is done in such a way that you can actually go ANYWHERE you want to and chose a route that you feel best. Some routes make the level more hard and some routes make it easier.

The whole map is quite well interconnected, so you can play deathmatch too if you want to. But since I've never ever played DM or even designed a DM map, I don't know how good or bad this level is for DM. You decide :)

Like a short streetfight with a dude who looks like a wimp but then pulls out some crazy jujitsu shit, this one surprised me with it's sneaky difficulty. But I curb stomped it anyway.

Died a few times, but gameplay was fairly tough. No ammo issues, but a mis-step could get you killed if you haven't gotten the megasphere yet.Tried several routes till I found one I could manage.Good, worth a d/l and playthrough.4.5[5]*

This map is tough. I finished with only 6% health. An all around good map really. For some reason I like the first better. 9/3/07

A nice (tough) challenge for the seasoned player, particularly hard on UV -fast. Regular saves essential as is infighting. 4/5 (10/2008)

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
