This map is part of a mini series that I am working on. This is my seventh release. ;)
The series is called Blind Alley and will be about seven to ten levels.
They will all be released as singles and then combined once the series is finished.
My original design as map 28, "The Spirit World" now running on level 1.
Don't look for a theme on this one, I don't know if there is one.
I am pretty sure this place only exists in my mind. Artistic license used freely.
A nice medium sized map with decent attention to detail.
You will never have for hunt for ammo in here. That is the least of your problems.
There is enough health and ammo that you can push as hard as you want for time, or
just lay back and snipe at the monsters. Nice to have the option isn't it?
I would love to see any lmp's done for the level. Feedback greatly appreciated.
I have been mapping for about five years. This is the seventh of my levels that I feel is OK
for release. It is a very fun map.
Detail is nice, but the concentration here is on gameplay.
Some good old fashioned run and gun in here.
Stay awake however, or you could get very dead.
I consider this map only somewhat hard in UV.
UV in this map is however aimed at the experienced player.
Skill levels could come in handy until you learn the map.
Special thanks to my friend Rich Sham for providing a great Legacy version 1.40 max demo of this map.
To play his demo use the following:
c:\doom2\legacy.exe doom2.wad -file BndAlyS.wad -playdemo rBAS1303
This assumes your doom2 folder is on your c: drive,
and that you have the excellent, free, Legacy port.
Or you can run it from the Legacy Launcher.
Get Legacy at:
I recommend you watch the demo of the level before you play it.
Unless you just love to die in the traps I have set for you.
There are, or soon will be, other excellent demos of this map at the following site:
Doomworld Speed Demo Archives.
Description: Fight your way through Warehouses and storage facilities to the corrupt heart of the
Spirit World Headquarters.
Then take the battle underground to the processing facilities to complete your mission.
If you play this map with Doom2.exe or Jdoom you will see some of the ghosts that inhabit
the spirit world and protect the Spirit World Headquarters.
Afterall, what is the spirit world without a few ghosts?
What are you waiting for? The carnage is waiting.
