About This File

This is a map I made after playing a Helm's Deep map for Counter-Strike. As far as looks go, I based on pretty much entirely on the CS map (which was pretty accurate as far as I know). In terms of gameplay, don't expect the marines to kill everything for you, you still have a lot of killing to do yourself. Also, the level will slow down at a few points, so be warned. If you have a lower end machine it may beg for mercy if you try and play this.

Well, its the future, and I played the thing on my laptop with no lag, and I have to say I was underwhelmed by the playability (your troops do most of the work), but awed by the scope and the imagination behind it. Not the most interactive level, but a neat little time-waster.-GreazyS horts

I am very impressed of the movie introduction. The lighting was something to take note of. The ladder thing was something I hope to make use of (for monsters). Maybe there should be some ladders, catapults, wall breaches, air monsters, and so on. ~4/5

On the one hand this map is very good, on the
other it makes top of the range computers crawl,
so sometimes you have to think whats the point.
Definately worth a play though.

Use software mode, not opengl in zdoomgl. Make the resolution reeally small. It's not like you'll need to see far. :P

Best LOTR tribute wad EVER. This is an instant classic, although I would have expected more zdoom features, this coming from Cyb, but still, fighting along an army of marines is just too fucking cool. Download this now.

Ugh... yeah. I can't even do anything in this map. It just says "Helm's Deep: By Cyb" and nothing happens.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
