Large 1994 level. Layout is quite rectangular, but works well. Texture variation and decoration is about what you can expect. Gameplay has for that time a lot of challenging but fair scenes, and although UV is now being considered as too easy, it's still fun to play. Rated as an early 1994 level: clearly above average.

Haha! I've been looking for this wad for a while. I played it once a long time ago and it influenced a lot of my level designs. I'm more critical of some of the texture choices, now, but it's still an interesting level.

This is an entertaining (very) old level from July 1994. It's a large-scale techbase, with an effective "maxi E1" design - it looks a bit crude today - plus a good, solid monster count, and tonnes of action. The baddies swarm you all at once and there are frequent traps. In fact it's still surprisingly hard, even all these years later, and I enjoyed it immensely. Instantly goes near the top of my small pile of "genuinely good 1994 levels".

Sure the architecture is poor but because this level has non-stop action from start to finish you really don't have time to admire the (lack of) visuals. A fun blast-fest that should take around 20 minutes to complete.

When I saw the opening area of this map, I thought I was in for a level ahead of its time. When I realized 95% of the level was boring square hallways, however, I was disappointed. If it weren't for the challenging battles, this would just be another mediocre 1994 map. 3.5/5

As with all doom levels, there is no story just violence and death !!! But for all you sad people (like me) this is the story .... H.Q have discovered that the aliens have started to set up bases upon planet Earth. Far up in the mountains the crea- tures of Hell have setup a heavy attack force of their best fighters. The only way into this base is by parachute as the only opening is defended by high stone walls. Once landed you must seek out all forms of life and destroy them without mercy

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
