Description : For my creative writing class at school, I needed
to design a community project of sorts. So, I
decided to try
something that, to my knowledge, has never been
done before. Make poetic Doom levels. The idea
behind the poetic Doom levels came from the way art
will sometimes relate to poetry. Some artists will
create a painting that was inspired by a poem,
thereby representing that poem on the canvas.
Taking this same idea, I began to ponder whether or
not this was possible to do with a Doom level. After
some contemplation regarding how I would go about
this, I finally decided that it was possible, and to
give it a try.
Additional Credits to : Id Software for Doom, DU for the webspace and the class,
and Kraftwerk, for having so much effect on me.

* About the Music *
I did go a bit further and pick out some custom
music for these levels. On the “Japan” level, I
chose a song I wrote which was inspired by Japanese
pop music. In “I, Robot”, I chose another song I
wrote which was inspired by Kraftwerk. This one is
called, “Jinzouninjin”, which is a Japanese word
roughly meaning “robot”. And finally, for
“Trancephoric”, I chose a trance song I wrote
called, “Sabrena's Song”. These three songs all
help to further convey the meaning of each poem and
level.
