About This File

The adventure continues, and stuff. There isn't any backstory you need to know, thanks to cutscenes, but I suppose having played the first one may help out a bit.

On newest Skulltag (which is actually pretty old) the tongue thingie in 10th level doesn't go down, allowing to pass. In newest Zdoom, I can't click and trigger the throne thing. Yes, fixing scripts for modern ports would be awesome...

Great wad, but part of map 12 doesn't work. 5/5

(1 comment above) He isn't supposed to pass the bridge, but yeah, this part is glitched. Still, this wad rocks, and a sequel to this wad (not counting Massmouthmas) would be great.

I'm anxiously awaiting MassMouth 3: When Worms Go Bad. I have an interesting plot line that connects both the first and second game with the linerarity of the first but the the story-ness and "depth" of this one...yet it involves a tragic ending. -TL

Better than the first! No shitty bats! Cool multiple endings! A super weapon! Hirez sprites! Kind of funny sometimes! Gratuitous ZDoom features! Special guest appearances! UAC_DEAD! Only a little bit of imp sex!

It should be brilliant, but half of the maps had broken nodes built for them and quite a few of slopes seem to be done backwards, blocking off important paths in several maps. I also found my player speed was randomly lowered from time-to-time, making combat very difficult. I persevered, cheated, fixed and hacked my way through for the story and all endings though. If it worked, I'd 5* it for sure... but it doesn't. A fixed version for modern ZDoom would be awesome. 3* -Phobus

IMO, it really takes a lot of effort and sure enough, an insane amount of time to make which is the only reason I give it a 4/5 but I find utterly unentertaining and barely across the border to being funny. But thats just my opinion. Doesnt mean its bad, I just HATE T.C.s like this shit but that just the opinion of one unimportant person in this overpopulated world.

Wow ... 7 years already since this came out. Quite frankly, my favorite zdoom mod ever. Story, gameplay and scripting are amazing ... not to forget the awesome soundtrack which has become an all time classic for me. Sure, the voice-acting isn't the best ... but who cares :) Was amazing for it's time and still is amazing now. Gotta have to replay this soon.

2/5 -negatives -The voice acting was pretty bad in my opinion. Half the time I couldn't understand what they were saying. -Another thing I disliked was that you ripped a bunch of sprites straight out of Half life. If you're going to use 3d character sprites, give them a decent fame rate. -Rail gun. I'm sick of people ripping off the railgun from quake. +positives +Killing that damn Linguica was a shit load of fun. +Most of the enviroments were gorgeous. +a few creative weapons

Really good puzzle map in a big dark metal/stone building. It catches the atmosphere of Bob Evans' Eternal Doom stuff, and I think there are even some homages to some other Eternal Doom maps as well (for example, the big two-layered outdoor area looks a bit like the "amusement park" in MAP26).   In my experience the puzzles were a bit easier than in "Silures" or "Excalibur", but it's possible that having played a lot of puzzle map stuff since I played Eternal Doom, having played through the whole canon of Bob Evans and Jim Flynn, and liking to search for Doom secrets in every map has made me recognize certain tropes better. The puzzles I liked most were (the spoilers only give minor hints):
Gameplay is good too, at the start ammo is scarce so the chainsaw and berserk are your friend, and midtiers say hello from the start on, but hitscanners are the biggest threat. Rockets should be saved for archviles until you find the first larger cache.   9,5/10

Fun, challenging set of maps that looks much better than you might expect for the time it was made. These maps will still slap you around a bit on HMP if you're not staying sharp. The author is fond of Chaingunner ambushes which keep you on your toes. I didn't find the SSG until around MAP05, which was cool, I like when its not given out too early. Pistol-starting the last two maps is pretty tough, but doable.   The map designs do a really good job of letting the player see crucial areas from different angles through progression and the layouts are really tidy overall, and feel a bit more modern than a lot of other 94/95 maps I've played. There are some really nice large-scale vistas (like the start of MAP06), nice uses of verticality and a good mixture of tight and more open combat.   Recommended!

Spectacular visuals and engaging combat make this an absolute must play. There's a puzzle with a "Shoot the thing" answer that kind of comes out of left field and can be an easy place to get stuck if you're not on your toes, but that hardly stops the map from being a thrilling masterpiece.

E3M9's refrain of back-tracking to a church for keys is a little tedious, and there are a few moments where things can become a frustrating key/switch hunt as you figure out what to do next, but aside from that, this an intense and rewarding adventure with beautiful lighting and architecture.
