About This File

This is a map I created inspired by Doom 2's MAP01. I came up with the idea for a MAP01-type level way last year when the MAP01 slot for Freedoom was open, and I figured that it'd be a simple level to do. However, my little brother decided to free up some hard drive space so he could download more games, and in the process deleted my Doom2 directory AND my MP3 directory. Thus, I lost all of the work I had done on it, and gave up in despair. This summer, however, I've spent a lot of time mapping, mainly for Freedoom, and needing to take a break from that, I started a couple of other side projects, and this is one of them. I decided I would resurrect my MAP01-style map, and make it even better than my old one.

plays well and looks nice. I would have never thought this is based on map01 if you hadn't told me :) I hope you spanked your brother for what he did... 4/5

It's a decent although very short map, with 38 mostly zombiemen and imps. The end of level boss is a mighty... demon! Who comes charging at you from the final room, in typical style. As others have pointed out, this has almost no resemblance to Map01, and to my eyes it looks more like an Ultimate Doom E1 map - there didn't seem to be any Doom II monsters or weapons apart from a super shotgun in multiplayer only.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.

A basic and nice looking showroom type of map where monsters are trapped inside glass prisons, no exit and no way to play this with any modern source Port like DSDA-Doom and GZDoom, but works really well in Crispy Doom. It was a pleasant experience.
