About This File

This is a complete weapon conversion that changes many weapons into sniper-like ones, most specifically the sniper rifle and railgun. The behavior has been altered quite a bit, and most guns are not at all similar to their doom equivalents. For example, the fast shooting chaingun has been replaced with a gun resembling a rapid-fire shotgun, and the plasma rifle now shoots alot slower, but the bullets do much more damage than that of the original (plus new graphics and sound). It may be fun in Single Player, but this weapon set really shines in DM, with the different styles of weapons merging different tactics together. For example, one guy may sit with the sniper rifle, waiting to pick off enemies from afar, while another may enjoy close-combat battles with the Spreadfire cannon. Well, I hope you have fun with this!

So, you made Doom into another one of those shovelware $50 FPSes with ten sniper rifles? Not cool, man.

It's not exactly Immoral Conduct.....but then again, nothing else is. Still, this could've been better.

Tried this on both Skulltag and ZDoom and noticed a few sound differences with the Pistol and Shotgun replacements (for some reason, the Shotgun is replaced with a Doom 64 Plasma Gun that shoots Railgun blasts. The Sniper Rifle is definitely a decent weapon, and the Chainsaw Launcher was hilarious (A Cyberdemon firing Chainsaws? You're far past fucked.). The Chain Gun and Plasma Gun replacements aren't great, but there's finally a decent BFG replacement. 3/5

I really enjoyed this one, and for once it didn't crash my gzdoom.exe. Well done. I'm really bored with the default weapons, particularly the shotgun. 4/5

      Dear Doomkid,

I was involved in the design and play-test of each of these levels. Please know these were created from *scratch* and we spent our time making sure the levels were as playable as possible. We were not terribly focused on texturing, other than to give players positional awareness in different parts of each arena.

Map 6 -- Offices of Death -- Was intentionally designed to be as accurate a representation of the office we worked in as possible. Admittedly, playability was taken as a second priority. We did manage to create working "elevators" and "stairs" to give the illusion you were going up and down floors. I was pretty happy with how we did.

Considering it was 1996, and no way to simply "Google" different ideas. Your best bet at the time was to jump onto the Usenet and hope you could find a decent board with active members. Other than that, it was pretty much all self-taught.

I'm glad you enjoyed the other levels. Yes, they are old-school, big arena, style. We spent a LOT of time trying to make sure they were as balanced as possible, with escape routes, and required risks for rewards.

Excellent stuff for the mid-1990s. Lots of action, good layouts, pretty challenging on UV.    9/10

For 1995 design is ok. But is VERY short. 3 min in slow pace.  Map is easy af.

Square rooms, no details, ugly. Secrets aren't flagged as secret. Only for crappy-wad-lovers.

For 1995, not bad. Some ideas, are really cool, but they're mixed with dumb things. Texture misalignments are common. Overall I had nice time with this.
