You get well armed before the viles so it's not that bad. Definitely an oshit moment. Level design was interesting, lighting was the map's high point. save the rockets and cells. MAP 01 5/30/16

This is dated January 2004. The name is straight outta 1994 and so is the design, which is very simplistic. The gameplay consists almost entirely of fights against weak or mid-range monsters. You don't have the super shotgun, so the battles tend to be drawn-out and dull, and there's very little ammo. The final battle takes an abrupt detour into Hell Revealed territory, with a decent fight against a wave of archviles; it's too little, too late.

^ I agree. All was splendid until the last door where you encounter 8 Arch-Viles (depending on skill, previous reviewer may have exaggerated slightly claiming there were like 1000). There was more than enough ammo left to kill them if you careful, but the narrow corridor makes it more challenging to say the least - some resurrect corpses while the rest burn you. 5-1 = 4/5

Now let`s look... The level was awesome! I loved how you lighted it up correctly, and that hellish layout was awesome!!! But you maybe not know the MAPINFO. On zdoom.com is many fun scripts you can use (music change) so that would sure give you 5 stars. 4/5

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
