About This File

This is modified version of MONGO.WAD, which was my first DOOM wad file. While converting it to DOOM 2 format, I also took the opportunity to make it bigger and prettier.

Also a bit tougher. While I'm no Doom Master, I can polish off the easy levels with no problem. But for you masochists, I dare you to finish on Ultra Violence with a 100% kill ratio. Yeah, sure...

My aim was to make a good mix of fighting, exploring, and puzzle solving. Hope you like running and jumping! Feedback please...

Embarrassing Intro : Oh no, they're back! It's the year 2666, and
you're the toughest fraggin' (there, got that
word in...) space marine in this quadrant of the
galaxy. You've honed your fighting instincts to
a razor's edge by slaughtering hordes of nasty
monsters. You wasted 'em all, or so you thought.
But now, as you sit in your underwear in your
squalid little apartment on the dark side of the
moon, sipping a warm beer at 7:00 a.m. and
watching the Today Show, you're startled to hear
the announcement that a new wave of demons has
invaded! (Oooo, isn't this scary?) So you jump
on your trusty but unlicensed space-scooter and
buzz down to the scene of the action, stopping
only once en route to pick up a cold six-pack of
Rolling Rock. You're ready for action! You're
ready for adventure! You're ready to stop reading
this stupid introduction and play the game!

There's worse levels, but there's also better levels, unless you're a 1994-style WAD nut.

  What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

  thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

  Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.

  A basic and nice looking showroom type of map where monsters are trapped inside glass prisons, no exit and no way to play this with any modern source Port like DSDA-Doom and GZDoom, but works really well in Crispy Doom. It was a pleasant experience.

  Conceptually not bad, it's a pretty imposing tower with some decent lighting, but no ammo at all despite having the guns and a VERY obscure way to rise up the floor in the lava pit? That's a big downer. But overall, it's ok.
