About This File

We designed this level as part of a competition in the danish newspaper Politiken. (The original HBG-WAD took the 1. prize :-) The senario is Copenhagen central station, with InterCity and ABB IC3 trains and ticket conductors.

Haha - so fun to find this. It's so many years ago.

I agree with all the reviews. It was kind of long and the hints weren't that good, and the trains part is really long and boring. I think it won the competition because of the location, danish humor "monrad og rislund" samples on the train conductors and the trains that looked like the moved using scrolling textures.

Ill rate it a neutral 3 :-)

Pretty fun to explore a place I've been to recreated in Doom this way. The actual gameplay was definitely less fun, though. The most frustrating part is that the map sometimes puts hitscan enemies behind fake walls, leaving you wondering where the heck the damage is coming from.

This was pretty fun to play through, even for its age. Got lost a few times but I managed through it.

An interesting curiosity map, some rather cheesy oldsk00l effects to drool over.

This level is pretty good for '96. The new textures are nice, as are the 3D effects. The layout and monster placement are kind of boring, though, and searching the ugly trains to find the first key was annoying. 3.5/5

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
