About This File

This file contains all the three Wasteland maps plus a few resources such as a new TITLEPIC and level names for the intermission screen which I received from the original author. Original txt files for each of the single maps are included in the readme.txt file.

A series of 3 classic maps joined in one pack, including new detailing and graphics (especially E2M1), really good stuff for the time it was done.

Not bad. In fact, I give 5 stars because the first map is such a classic. I played it countless times back in the day.

Pretty good, but E2M3 can get extremly confusing at times.

^ The ammo stash in the 1st level is supposed to be carried out to the 2nd (and possibly the 3rd) levels, as they were supposed to be part of a series. Read the MOuntain of Fire text file.

Blech. Overall: author's too fond of damaging floors, some cool bits here and there, but mostly bland/ugly. Much health & ammo at start of 1st level, not enough anywhere else. New textures ugly. M1: A town-style level with old-style faked room-over-room, best map in set. 75% of the rooms are pointless, mostly bare with some misguided attempts at realism. M2: Cool temple, otherwise ugly especially at start, not enough H&A. M3: Must stay in shade or take damage--aggravating. Not enough H&A.

Some maps are fun, others have some weird switch combinations to put pressure in the player, I didn't have a good time with these maps. Just read vdgg review.

Similar to his Iron Halls, square rooms, no keys, interior bloody sewer, few floor height variations. Good gameplay. Quake-y sounds.

A pretty good map semi-slaughter map that uses the Ancient Aliens textures and monsters, is a voyage into some purple/cyan place where you have to climb a fireblu cake after solving a simplicity-like puzzle (cool, i'm one of the 10 people that remember of "Simplicity", do you remember when 13/15 years ago that megawad was the stunning trend in mapping?), overall is a fun map, even if doesn't have too much ammo for beating all the resistance, at least for me.

Linear indoor action, no keys, some quake sounds, cool play if you don't care about boring textures. Totally opposite to his later style -> Gigantic-exteriors.

Pretty cool map for the 1994 standards, good layout and gameplay, even with the high number of monsters (128 on HMP), the level is pretty straightforward but pretty fun.
