Funniest thing that you can't use this map for rebuilds and I'm pretty sure email adress isn't working anymore to ask permission. Talking about map,  shovelware wads had more energy and soul included in them.

* Comes into the room with a bat while panting * Guys I got here as fast as I could to further bash this level into oblivion! Bjarne is what I would call a "rat's maze" as in you are a rat in a maze of narrow paths looking for the way out. In this particular case, with it being so brown, I assume Bjarne means sewer rat maze in Swedish.

There are no courtyards, no height differences, no cover, no wide hallways, its just a gauntlet of chain gunners, pinkies, cacos and revenants. Since the hallways are so cramped, some of the enemies will kill one another to get to you.

I managed to transport into an area with a broken door, so there was no way to get out of the transporter. Push the face button, it would shift up slightly and that's about it. I assume its one of those use once and destroy, but I was stuck several times and even idclipping my way through lead me in a circle back to the same transporter.

Is it bad? Yes. Terrible, no. Skip it unless you want to see a map that spells its own name.

It's flat and ugly.

The map layout is just the title spelt out and the gameplay is remarkably empty and vapid.

Also, why is this ZDoom exactly? Couldn't tell you myself.

This is obviously a level that inspires great passion amongst fans of Doom. It's a small mazey map in the shape of the name BJARNE, with a smiley face over the J. The concept is a throwback to the early days of Doom. The level is very simplistic, although it's playable as a two-minute blast, and certainly doesn't deserve the bashing above. It's basically a very simplistic straight map rather than a novelty joke e.g. the Gamarra/Ruba levels.

Oh yeah. Its that bad. But no one was born walking or singing or being able to do math mentally. We all learn through trial and error. So criticisms arent out of place but I not going to say how bad this map is, instead I encourage the author to do it again. He will improve!!!

To the above reviewer: I doubt it. Bjarne has released several maps already, and shows no sign of rising from his place at the bottom of the Doom mappers cesspit.

Yep, it sucks. Flat, cramped and totally uninteresting. Credit for having at least some sort of idea behind the pathetic approach, though.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
