About This File

You find yourself enclosed in the reception towers of a Hellspawn encampment. Of what it's protecting (or hiding) is not readily known. Somehow you got the short end of the stick in this mission and you just want to get in, clean house and get out.

Confusing at first. Tested in ZDoom, I believe :( I played in PrB+ vanilla compatibility, taking advantage of lost soul limit, but suffering due to infinitely tall corpses. Classical style, a bit pcorf-like, nice.

Excellent work by Tolwyn. Lots of fun and well balanced. Perhaps slightly weak connectivity-wise in places. Worth 4.5 stars.

The parts I played I liked, but I got tired of looking for the next switch or whatever. This map is confusing and thats what makes it hard. Plenty of ammo and probley too much health but a good looking map.

I loved this. Especially the visuals. But please don't make maps with the blocking hanging bodies near lava or test with prboom. I found it a bit confusing which way to go at times but 5/5 anyway.

Pick the right skill level, and it's not as hard. Check the stats file that came with the archive.

Another clever map, this one looks quite nice too, but is pretty tough straight from the get go, even with all the secrets and equipment from tolwyn01 carried over (nice to be able to play the tolwyn series in order of release, it has to be said). A few bits bothered me, but still 4* -Phobus

Really really nice. A little too puzzling but the atmosphere (especially in Jdoom) keeps you there. 4/5

This level is quite good-looking and plays reasonably well. However, there are too much little tricks and switches to pull just to advance in the level, so it became more frustrating than fun. If you're more puzzle-oriented player, you'd probably enjoy this.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
