About This File

I tried to make a tropical forest island kind of like FarCry. Hopefully I succeeded somewhat

Crumbs, its FarCry Doom. The beginning bit jerks slightly on my machine, which is a science fiction supercomputer compared to the old 486 I played Doom2 on. This is a silly idea that doesn't work - it looks more like the 1998 flop Trespasser than FarCry - but I'm glad it exists. The "gathering storm" effect is well done and it's an interesting experiment with the Doom engine. Not much fun to play though, and the indoor bit is very poor.

You should call it "FarCry Doom", lol. Great atmosphere, could have been longer. Gotta check out the 2nd version as well. 5/5

somehow I like it (atmosphere, idea), somehow not that much (the sky, some textures)

Aside from the slightly annoying end monsters, this level really is a blast to play.

^And also aside from a slightly boring beginning and a complete lack of clue of what to do when you have to blow out the two fuses to deactivate the lasers. It took me a half and hour to get unstuck, and I did so only by chance. Still fun elsewise and worth 4/5. Love the ending music.

Very cool, epic level. Nice views (volcano, cliffs, hills, spring etc.), full set of eye candy effects (especially the day/night thing), good outdoor and indoor fights and few of a new enemies (check this annoying imp with the shield). Quite well balanced, but ending enemies are lame - railgun thingies are too slow to stand a threat, same with the boss - sitting duck, even with his archvilish attack. Anyway, great stuff, gives much fun -- Brun Ohn (PS. Playable in software-rendered 640x480 on athlonxp2k+ :)

Amazing work. The scenery/architecture looked great, and the ambient sounds made it all the more immersive. The monsters at the end did seem a bit 'odd', but nothing to make me want to stop playing. Awesome map. -Tango

Ugh, the outdoor area might be a nice attempt aesthetically, but no thought at all has gone into monster placement. The addition of countless, pointless new monsters doesn't hide that for me. The base bit is a little better, though not by much. Unsurprisingly overrated because of all the Zdoom gimmicks 2/5

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
