About This File

This map was supposed to have been a part of Doom Enigma.

An action packed episode 1 style map from the creator of CH Retro Episode.

Note that it is for Doom II, not Ult. Doom!

Tested with zDoom and Skulltag with no problems. I am unsure whether a port is required or not...

One of the best Doom2 maps I've played, and the weird thing is it feels like something out of Ultimate Doom, even with the Chaingunners and such in there :D Awesome map, no doubt about it

Nice map generally. But I think there's far too many traps and far too little health, especially considering this was meant to be a 'classic' E1-styled map. 4/5

Awesome E-1 style level, very good archetecture that maintains the E1 feel throughout the level. 4 stars.

Very nice map and fun too. Ummm, I didn't like the switch next to the blue key. Maybe it should keep the door open next time so that the next player dosen't spend 10 minutes walking round in circles. This is too easy on uv. My health never dropped below 75%. Other than that I think flow could have been better but it's very nice nontheless. 4 stars --- Starburst.

Was gonna say this was a just a nice little standard Doom map, but I see that it was meant for Enigma so that explains why gameplay is so classic-styled. 4/5

This is an action-packed retro Classic Doom level, with a clever and intricate design that leads you onwards logically whilst also being non-linear. It resembles E1M3 a bit, although the presence of chaingunners breaks the retro spell slightly. The blue key section seems oddly pedantic, and one of the secrets is either impossible or overly difficult because of a too-low ceiling that slows you down. Apart from that it's great fun.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
