About This File

I have always loved Action Doom's weapons. Unfortunately, due to all the other dehackiness of the wad, I was unable to use the weapons with any other wad. I finally got so sick and tired of that feeling that I started this: a port of all of Action Doom's weapons in a form that can be used on anything. Now, I finished the darn thing. Some of these guns are the same as the original ones, while others are modified a bit. Of course, I added a few new ones, as always, but they act quite a bit differently than Action Doom's guns. Sure, this may seem like a simple rip-off, but I had to painstakingly re- create each and every one of these weapons by hand. Anyway, I think that this weaponset is one of the coolest I've ever made. I hope you agree as well. :P

Also look for an update to Warzone in the future.

Pretty fun. If you have played Action Doom by Scuna Steve and like the guns, then start downloading! If not, then move on.

You've got to put '-deh actrev_x.wad' on the Extra Command Line options. I'm using ZDoom Launcher btw. -Zim

NOTE TO PEOPLE HAVING PROBLEMS: This REQUIRES ZDoom version .63a and WILL _NOT_ WORK WITH NEWER VERSIONS. You can get .63a off of the ZDoom website. And nice mod.

The weapons are really cool but some of the firing animations are messed up so you can see silouettes of the original weapons. 2/5 -Jespin

^How fucking stupid are you to not look at the text file? It's at the bottom of this tiny page you shit heap and not only that, this is by Xaser which is a name most in the DOOM community recognize so he's not really needing to ride off of anyone....ANYWAY, I really like this wad except for the Zdoom .63a version thing so that's a 4/5 from me. -bukkake_windmill

This weapon mod doesn't work well with Skulltag; the Pistol, Shotgun and BFG replacements glitch to where you can't fire or switch weapons. On ZDoom, it works a little better, but it's still nothing spectacular. The Shotgun's firing animation is screwed up, the BFG fires out of line with the charging sound, and there's no SSG replacement. The other weapons are decent, though, but not much better (or different) than the weapons they were meant to replace. 2/5

Why must you try to piggyback on Action Doom's success and subsequently be a cheap hack?

Why would such a simple weapon mod need specific version of ZDoom?

Again, don't post low scores unless you give a detailed reason. I really like this mod, i've awlays liked the Action doom wads, but I would never be able to use em (due to the fact of the 1 HP thing) Well, now I can, also the new weapons area great. Chronoteeth

This is a solid contender for being the absolute best Megawad that I've ever played.

I...did not review this, okay. well, it's blue and it's pretty decent and setpiece-y. get used to ribbiks' style and this one is just like all his other maps, very well-designed and fun to play. just watch out for MAP03's final area.

it's one of those classic 90's wads you can probably just sift through, but it's not that good. plenty of inescapable pits, some awful level progression, and some actually trollish crusher placement lie within this one.

A few really good maps supported by a bunch of alright ones. Visuals are mostly Plutonia-inspired, with the occasional veering into Shores of Hell type mish-mash architecture. Difficulty is about on par with DOOM2.wad I think. Overall, a rather pedestrian affair, although the standout maps are certainly worth the time.

BACK TO SATURN X E1: GET OUT OF MY STATIONS REVIEW:   The Good:   - Stunning visuals   - Great monster placement   - Lots of (clever) secrets and they are rewarding   - Enough ammo to keep you going   - The names of the Maps LOL!   - Loads of fun   - Awesome music!   The Bad:   - Not long enough. LOL! I loved it so much, I didn't want it to end!   In Short: I've actually played this fantastic WAD at least 6 or 7 times. Why? This is my second favorite WAD of all time, only bested by its successor, BTSX Episode 2: Fountain of Sparks. I remember the very first time I played it a couple of years ago like it was yesterday. How many times can you say that (in a good way) about a game?   I remember being completely blown away by the architectural designs at the time. I even remember giggling as I sunk in the ocean on the final Map, only to read something like "To Be Continued..." and thinking, "Awww....it's over." But I admit that, like everyone else, I had loads of fun with this.    There is lack of a "customary" final boss (I wasn't certain if this was a "Good" or "Bad" element of the game, hence why it's in neither category above - it really will depend on the player so I kept it neutral). But don't let that deter you! The final "stage" in the last (playable) Map is as memorable as it is wicked, and it'll keep you on your toes just like any other customary boss!   Play this WAD if it's the only WAD you ever play. Definite replay value.   Well deserved Cacoward. Thanks, Team, for making it!   5 out of 5 stars with me.  ~ dylux
