About This File

This is a Massmouth Christmas special, as it were. I always wanted to make a Massmouth hub, and a few days ago I decided I would do it. It's small and pretty linear, and it's not fast paced action or anything. In fact it's more of a puzzle wad, so if you want some crazy run and gun, go play Alien Vendetta.

The story takes place after the events of Massmouth 1, but before Massmouth 2, because making it follow the events of Massmouth 2 would be a pain thanks to my genius idea of giving it six endings. Everything will be explained in game, so enjoy!

Also a nice thanks to various people who played the first version I released on DW and told me about any bugs and such.

A solid puzzle level that, unlike the .WAD it uses for resources, works perfectly using modern ZDoom (except for one camera which is used to show the player jumping a gap). Also a nice christmas .WAD to boot. I'll give this the 5* that Mouthmass 2 would deserve if it worked properly -Phobus

FYI Phobus, Massmouth 2 works perfectly if you use the intended source port. It requires the 2.0.63(a) version of Zdoom.

I'm a Massmouth fan, and this did not dissapoint me. 5/5 Joe Anderson It's not that confusing once you read the pc's. They tell you exactly what to do.

Very nice! (The jumping cutscene however makes it seem as if it's impossible to jump into place with the yellow button)

I can't get this to work. Way to many missing textures and whatnot. All the obvious stuff has been checked.

IT is really nice and small adventure HUB. I won't give it 5 stars because of one reason. I didn't know, how to pick up these damn stones and it took me ages to find out, that you can read emails on monitors. 4/5 - Damned

You should play this one, even if you don't tend to enjoy Zdoom wads.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
