best wad ever, although map28 was very laggy and got my computer slowing down quick in the fan room while trying to hit the walls to get to the other side of the map too

I see no reasons why I should not give it 5/5...Yeah, it has some small glitches and play DooM with Sonic style sometimes just not mixed well but I really love to play this wad, just awesome! 5/5 -playerlin

quite possibly one of the best ZDoom megawads ever conceived, and I'm not even a sonic fan. one zone for two levels, each and every one has some unique gameplay themes, puzzles, secrets, etc. it's also very nice to see the jokes being cracked up every now and then. most of the target boss battles are a bit lame, but I like them anyways. the new monsters give a cool flavor. there are quite a few bugs, but I can work around them just fine.

Pretty solid modification. Loved the level design and the new mechanics, and I thought the new mechanics worked well. However I didn't like the length and tediousness of the target bosses, but I thought they were all pretty unique. I liked the cutscene idea aswell, but the opening one was much too long for my taste. Aesthetically it looks pretty damn good, with some really nice new textures, but during one of the forest levels I found a small HOM error on one of the houses. 4/5 ~havok2000

Kind of weird, but very fun with sonic elements. Imagination is great for making doom mods.

I like the bosses, they are very innovative. In fact, everything about this wad is innovative. I love the story progression and your take on a space-base type level. The only problem is that some of the maps are a little too confusing, but I guess that is unavoidable since only one person was making 35 maps. You basically took everything that was wrong with Fragport and made it right!

This is one of those wads that are great, but ignored by most people, which is sad. The new monsters are amazing, every level seems like an adventure, the bonus stages are fun and the bosses are epic (except the final one, which i found quite underwhelming). There are some gameplay flaws, but overall, this is a near-perfect wad that has been judged unfairly. 5 stars

Fair stuff. Much work into it, but a few scripted events seem to be buggy (esp. triggers). So I nned to noclip quite often. Sonic isn't everybody's taste, but it works for me. 3,5/5

Underrated. Even with this many votes. Level design is bright, extremely creative and diverse, and they are CONSISTENTLY fun to play. The Sonic elements are just icing on the cake. This level set is EPIC, and is a long, involving journey. Legendary sounds about right. 11/5

Platforming in this is abysmal and some bosses are stupidly ridiculous and finicky, yes, but it just has this epic appeal to it -- and I mean that term by its literal definition. A full playthrough will leave you feeling a massive sense of accomplishment, like you really did embark on an awesome journey on the grandest scale.

amazing and very unique wad. I only had a problem with the volcano zones which had eruptions very frequently so I'd spend most of the level waiting for the screen to stop shaking! Other than that, many detailed locations. The space levels in the end are my favorites. 5 out of 5!

This is my favorite Doom WAD of all time. While there are problems with graphical bugs and I have a problem toward the end of Ocean City Zone Act 2, it is still one of the most fun WADs out there. I also agree that the dialouge can be pretty lame at times too. However, I love the Sonic elements; the music, the monitors, the rings, the target-based bosses. I love the new enimies, and the fact that the Quake 2 railgun is in this is awesome! This needs a sequel, seriously. 5/5 -TJ

Gets less and less fun as you play. It starts out okay, then goes downhill from there.

playing as sonic makes it better but playing as a big M-1 abrams main battle tank just makes it weird but cool now for m4 sherman

Just because it's a ZDoom megawad doesn't make it any good. Mostly big, boring and ugly, the scripted dialogue is atrocious, and the idea of making a Doom megawad with random Sonic elements thrown in is just weird. Some of the bosses are neat, but I would never be able to just play this thing through for real.

Really good puzzle map in a big dark metal/stone building. It catches the atmosphere of Bob Evans' Eternal Doom stuff, and I think there are even some homages to some other Eternal Doom maps as well (for example, the big two-layered outdoor area looks a bit like the "amusement park" in MAP26).   In my experience the puzzles were a bit easier than in "Silures" or "Excalibur", but it's possible that having played a lot of puzzle map stuff since I played Eternal Doom, having played through the whole canon of Bob Evans and Jim Flynn, and liking to search for Doom secrets in every map has made me recognize certain tropes better. The puzzles I liked most were (the spoilers only give minor hints):
Gameplay is good too, at the start ammo is scarce so the chainsaw and berserk are your friend, and midtiers say hello from the start on, but hitscanners are the biggest threat. Rockets should be saved for archviles until you find the first larger cache.   9,5/10

Fun, challenging set of maps that looks much better than you might expect for the time it was made. These maps will still slap you around a bit on HMP if you're not staying sharp. The author is fond of Chaingunner ambushes which keep you on your toes. I didn't find the SSG until around MAP05, which was cool, I like when its not given out too early. Pistol-starting the last two maps is pretty tough, but doable.   The map designs do a really good job of letting the player see crucial areas from different angles through progression and the layouts are really tidy overall, and feel a bit more modern than a lot of other 94/95 maps I've played. There are some really nice large-scale vistas (like the start of MAP06), nice uses of verticality and a good mixture of tight and more open combat.   Recommended!

Spectacular visuals and engaging combat make this an absolute must play. There's a puzzle with a "Shoot the thing" answer that kind of comes out of left field and can be an easy place to get stuck if you're not on your toes, but that hardly stops the map from being a thrilling masterpiece.

E3M9's refrain of back-tracking to a church for keys is a little tedious, and there are a few moments where things can become a frustrating key/switch hunt as you figure out what to do next, but aside from that, this an intense and rewarding adventure with beautiful lighting and architecture.
