About This File

`Acorn Hardas' rides again - I played at pwad making with `The Impzone' and Imp Zone II, I tried harder with `Vengeance' but here's my best shot!

I can only hope it gives as much pleasure playing it, as it gave me to construct. JUST HAVE FUN but be careful out there!

This is dated September 1994. You fight 100+ baddies in a kind of tech-castle with a slimebase that you'll probably never see, because it's hidden. It has most of the typical 1994-style problems (mazey layout, undetailed design, easy gameplay, and a wandery progression that forces you to backtrack right to the start). On the other hand it moves fairly quickly and the design showed promise, although the mapper never went on to better things.

Would not play with PRBoom, with errors about missing files : FluidR3_GM.sf2 and STARTAN2.  These were not provided in the zip file.

The map author left the words "how not" out of his description, I'll let you figure out where.

More tripe.  Huge badly designed and featureless rooms that give you leg ache just watching going through them. The opposition from monsters is pitiful.

A busted crock of shit. The map is random scribble, it's insane.  Why do they upload this tripe?  The third screenshot above gives an idea what to expect.

Consists of some rooms to be opened in key sequence from a central area. Doors are narrow and each reveals a row of monsters waiting for you, and you don't have enough ammo (I had to cheat). No atmosphere, bright lighting, and mostly Wolfenstein-ish cuboid rooms. Technically OK, with minor texture mis-matches. At least his own summary was modest.   Give it a miss.
