About This File

You're `Acorn Hardas' and you're NO Green Marine. Problem is, the action ain't been too hot of late and you're not one for looking at yourself in a Hall Of Mirrors ;-) You've been in nothing but trouble with a capital `S' mainly for being Late On Parade, but what do they expect when there's nothing to do but get `spaced out'?

Bringing up the rear guard on yet another routine mission, you keep comming across the toasted remains of your buddy's. Looks like this is the Big One, or is it a scene from that old Twentieth Century, 2D Movie you recall, "Planet of the Apes".

It's time to prove that you ARE a waster, just like your Captain said, but not quite as he meant...

An opaque '90s dungeon crawl map with kid's gloves on (meaning it's probably a good intro if you want to try that map out). Despite the really bizarre progression and more doors being unmarked walls than having actual door textures, I never got remotely lost because of the tight scale, the intuitive "try humping walls because otherwise I'm stuck" moments, and the automap pickup midway through. Lighting is really well done for the time, lots of darkness and even some directional work giving it a spooky mood. It starts out with a KDITD feel and then branches out to other themes, which feels like a very 1994 thing. The lateral thinking in figuring out how to get around was pretty engaging.

There will be high variance in how much people like this, and I'm not an expert on this era, but I enjoyed it.

Err...just one of the many 1994 WADs that kept me entertained back in the day. I guess I owe this old wolf a 3/5. -Maes

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.
