About This File

A sequel to the first Island, again, a tropical forest, but this time with a much larger indoor area. Plus it runs faster.

not really a fan of those custom monsters, but overall, the wad was alright. the outdoor areas and the cave (where that crusher segment was) are cool, the indoors parts had much more combat and felt a lot tougher. pretty fun except with the boss fights.

Quite nice work, but feels more like tech demo than serious map. Somehow I didn't like several new monsters and some fights.

The outdoor part is still utterly boring so n/c about it. But the base area... with the added health and ammo there's some excellent gameplay there. Really tense but not for a moment annoying. And the boss fight is perfect. 3/5 for the outdoors, 5/5 for the base. 42 minutes playtime. 4/5 - Belial

For all the reviewers who think anything new sucks. You are fucking retarded. What's overused? The same Doom 2 stock textures over and over and over and over and over again, all in the name of OMG!!! CLASSIC WAD!!!! Fucking gay, this wad rocks for its originality and aesthetics alone. Yes gameplay is important, but I don't think the gameplay is that bad here... 5/5 Jason, and good job. (Good job on that damn bridge, too! That took some fucking work!) 5/5 I, personally loved it!

For a tropical location it has the wrong kinds of trees. :P

It's nice, but first one was somewhat better. Maybe novelty value. Anyway, outdoor sections are a bit boring, indeed - base is cool, but boss fights suck. Flying hamster at the end had problems with leaving his swimming pool, got killed quickly. Or maybe my zdoom is b0rked. However, 4/5 coz it's still class -- Brun Ohn (poster above - it's better to paste bollocks in Hungarian, French is cliche)

I think the Doom2 monsters are overused. :/ Great atmosphere, I love rainy, natural feeling areas like that. Dark but not evil. Just gloomy. I wish the outside area was longer this time, but I liked how it was segmented into three (I think) outside areas instead of one giant one. The base was cool with all the lookouts in the hallways. Very neat feeling. Love this map. Even more than the first one.

An okay level, ignore the comments calling it overdetailed and slow. The map is actually kinda bland by modern standards. Its filled with old custom monsters designed for an older version of zdoom, and for some reason the sound desyncs badly. A good resource if you want tree and plant sprites. 2/5

(=3=) I needed the sprites. Thanks. (+1) Sprite Ripping and re-coloring are in full effect. (-1) A tad bit bland for modern standards (-1) Sound desync (-1). 1/5. ~That guy over there

Excellent base area, outdoor areas had great atmosphere (could've use them more extensively). The "Crushing Factory"-part was awesome. More please. 5/5

Great WAD - a worthy successor to the first part!

Take away all the detail and atmosphere (which slows down many PCs), and you're left with a map with 1994-level gameplay - huge open areas, boring corridors, with overpowered DEHACKED monsters and almost no weapons or places to hide for cover.

A nice map, atmospheric, but a bit too dark for my taste, a few times really crowded with HARD demons (snakeimps, blackimps, stoneimps, warlord-whatevers, boss ...) and few health, ammo randomly spread through the jungle, and then I wonder what's so special that it wants zdoom 2.96. And some music a few times might've been a nice addidtion, too. But the base is quite decent and overall a good sequel to Island 1. A fair 3.75/5.

I agree with the second reviewer. Looks nice and all, but really nothing interesting to actually play. I'm getting annoyed with those darn overpowered Monster Resource Wad monsters too. 3/5

One of the classic megawads, and the successor to TNT Evilution. I've played this several times over the years, and its grown on me more with each play as my tastes mature.   Still has a bunch of maps that got me killed in 2024, after ive finished stuff like HR and AV, and plenty of maps are memorable. Only real downsides is some of the levels have little content, showing its age.

One of the earliest Doom user maps and It shows. Despite the raw and empty design, the author take a good use of 3D space creating a small fortress surrounded by mountains, the level Is fun to play and not hard. A fancy escapade and a piece of modding history.

Third and final released map of a WIP episode by David Rager, it's more long, complex and hard than the previous entries in the series. A well made map with pretty challenging parts with a mix of monster usage, envoirnmental hazards and some puzzle gameplay. Fun but pretty harsh.

Two more misplaced DM maps without a exit like QUDOOM (that at least had a exit room, while not functional) that caught me by their file name and leave me for the bad experience in SP. Chicken is just a long bridge between a thundering abyss where cyberdemons wants to destroy you, meh. Gangstar is a more fun map sets in a big, abstract warehouse where a cyberdemon roam free trying to kill you, shotgunners and lost souls are here in this Hell corner adding more pain to the thing, enforced by semi-hidden mazes, my favorite.

This is like the physical version of the "we have X at home" meme in DM map format for Quake E1M1. Very poorly made, broken exit and missing textures here and there but at least the level KINDA resembles the original source somehow.
