About This File

An rather large hellish themed map, with new textures, sounds, monsters. Pretty hard from start to finish, only hellish creatures are used here no zombies. An decent ammount of secrets to be found, great detail but not overdone. Have fun :)

It masterfully mixes survival horror (due to its dark, hellish visuals, and use of D64 sounds), with classic Doom action, giving you enough ammo to survive, but not so much that you'll feel overpowered.

Mostly challenging, at times a bit annoying, but mostly enjoyable, with the only major flaw being the fact that it is little content strethed too far: hit a switch, fight baddies x 100 in a level that feels the same from start to finish, with no feeling of progression (like a big battle at the end, for instance)

Another classic map from a great mapper. This is certainly challenging at times especially with those damn custom lost souls, but it was still so fun to play I kept coming back. 5* from me. -TRRobin.

Author shows a lot of technical skills. Ambiance is good, despite the quite rectangular map layout and a few hilarious design errors. Sadly the gameplay @ UV is not good. It's not too difficult, but way, way to repetitive, predictable and monotonous. After a while it gets more and more difficult to keep on being interested. Overall: 4.5 for the technical skills, 4 for ambiance, 2.5 for the layout, 1.5 * for the gameplay, so 3*. It's a pity...

Despite what a prior comment says, there are difficulty settings. HMP should be doable by most seasoned Doomers with a few saves. It didn't wreck my day, and I'm not that good on my laptop.

very extreme visual quality and PSX atmosphere. I like, but the extra monsters are quite annoying particularly the lost souls.

The architecture and layout is superb (maybe the layout is simple), the graphical aspects are good and so are the sounds... Sadly, the gameplay completely fails, as you may find yourself with no ammo, health and armor with each horde of monsters. If this aspect was worked in depth, would be awesome. 3 stars.

I just solved this in a sitting. I love the way it unfolds. once you get the hang of it it's quite easy though. huge amounts of ammo. maybe overcompensated in the 'update'?

A huge improvement over Dutch Devil's first map. Whilst still symmetrical at times, the layout as a whole is much more interesting, and the ammo/health balance is a bit more balanced. It all looks good, with lots of decorate monsters, which I actually think are more detrimental to the wad than good. Especially those stupid over-powered stealth barons. Still, a really nice map 5/5

This was a much better effort than total control. Layout was highly improved upon. This should have been picked for the cacoward instead of total control. Thank you Dutch Devil! 5/5 -Superdavey

Looks great but is too difficult. Finished the game after 10 minutes of major annoyance. Lower skill levels are meant to be easier, you know?

Looks great, but plays very poorly. The light levels are ridiculously low in almost all areas, fights are repetitive, traps are way too obvious, some of the new enemies are awfully lame, thought some are good. 2/5

I'm surprised anyone had any real trouble with this. I really liked the ammo management before you get the backpack, at which point it seems like you have too much. I finished the level with plenty ammunition to spare, but that might be anecdotal. Loved the architechture, Doom 64 Sounds are always cool, and I liked the pacing. 4/5!

Holy Shit. Nice level ! Very detailed. Insane gameplay, hard new monsters very fast and annoying. Not an easy map. For the next one set at least two difficult settings. 4.5/5

The map is as fair and beautious as a lilly, however it's nearly impossible on UV, and the level progression a bit frustrating, so the gameplay experience was meh. Bearing in mind that it would be easier on lesser skill I'd give it a 4. I would advise dutchdevil to tone down the gameplay in his maps, because architecture-wise he's brilliant, the only other mapper zdoom which I can think of to be better is tormentor667.

Looks great, plays like ass. Tons of decorate monsters + little health/ammo + cramped areas + no skill levels = very annoying. You'd have to memorize the whole damn thing to get through it in one life, and even then you'd have to be lucky. 3/5.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
