About This File

This is my last low-detailed map. Someone showed me what people meant by "detail" and I was too far along in this map to start over to make it to this week's /newstuff. So this is low-detailed I know that. Hope you enjoy it though.

Of course as far as detail is concerned, there is no heightened rule that says, "lots of detail makes maps better." The classic episodes and doom 2 are living proofs of that. The focus, really, should be in how effectively and consistently detail is used. And of course ideas and gameplay will always take priority as well. Ahem, anyway, this map is okay. The connectivity and structure of the level, I thought, needed more attention than the palatable idea of greater detail.

Sorry but I don't think you have enough ammo to finish off the 100 hell kinghts and barons. 6/12/07

      A basic and nice looking showroom type of map where monsters are trapped inside glass prisons, no exit and no way to play this with any modern source Port like DSDA-Doom and GZDoom, but works really well in Crispy Doom. It was a pleasant experience.

      Conceptually not bad, it's a pretty imposing tower with some decent lighting, but no ammo at all despite having the guns and a VERY obscure way to rise up the floor in the lava pit? That's a big downer. But overall, it's ok.

      Well, the map is pretty basic. The map is quite challenging, with there being 0 ammo pickups (excluding the backpack) outside of the starting room. There are also nazis for some reason. I will give it 2 stars only because this really wasn't meant to be played to be enjoyed, but rather just a example of how to build a map in DEU.
