About This File

A set of four levels, which all push the limits of the good ol' vanilla Doom.

If your computer refuses to cooperate with doom2.exe, I recommend Chocolate Doom: http://chocolate-doom.sourceforge.net/

Has also been tested and found functional on ZDoom. Other ports may or may not break some effects. I really don't recommend playing this on a 3D-accelerated port.

Wow, very boring. Nearly fell asleep, I kept playing waiting for the magic to happen but it never came. I do believe this only got a high rating because the author died. I give it a 2/5. The textures are nice and some of the architecture deserves a second look. Other than that, it's very grey and the gameplay is simple not there.

Very enjoyable! I wish there were more like this one! It even works on DOOMX (for the XBOX) thankx to the lack of Deh and BOOM features! Simply AMAZING!

If you like long, detailed, impressive maps that require attention from the player, play this!Amazing detailing,if you're into the high-tech stylngs, and with only 4 maps it feels quite positively exhausting. This is top-notch material,I surely cannot build such levels,so I don't have anything else smart to say except:Recommended.5 /5

This does indeed rock. Amazingly detailed maps for vanilla, and the new graphics used complement the original textures perfectly. The new sounds are too loud and sharp, but they're easily removed. I am still in disbelief this actually runs on doom2.exe, incredible. 5/5

Best group of maps I've ever played! The maps are well detailed (map 3 is amazing!), and the supply of enemies to ammo/health is enough to create a good challenge, but not a ridiculous one. 5/5 Well done!

Don't want to seem too cynical, but it seems this is rated so high because the author died :/ It is a well designed wad, but it is also kinda boring.

An amazing set of levels, they are all perfect from start to finish, some mind blowing architecture and gameplay and it looks awesome and certinally kick the butt out most of my levels. Finnish designers rule! I feel like I'm back in Helsinki again!. It gets a 5 -PC

how the fuck was this compatible in vanilla? :p very superb set of maps which are actually pretty fucking hard too. 4 stars though because sometimes with the corridors and layout it's easy to get lost.

I believe that this levelset tries too hard to produce atmosphere so many of the other aspects of gameplay suffered. In other words, too much piddling around in a nearly empty base with too little ammo to actually have fun. The point of an action/horror-surviv al game was to run around shootin the fuck out of monsters, not to look at all the pretty buildings. That is okay with a different gameplay style, but the author didn't state this levelset has a different kind of gameplay.

"how the fuck was this compatible in vanilla?" I think many doomers asked exactly the same question in last ten years, and many more will ask it during next ten years. Truly, this guy was one of Elder Gods of Doom mapping.

Never mind the detail, feel the quality. And by quality I mean gameplay. This wad keeps you on your mental toes from start to finish; the balance is perfect between fighting and exploration. And as fo sympathy vote, forget it. I'd have given this wad five whether the designer had just died or was upstairs this very minute balling my wife and drinking my scotch. (Well, maybe I'd give it four in the latter case, I hate people stealing my whisky.)

This is a fucking masterpiece of DooM art! Unbelievable it still works with plain DooM2 (and what would have been if it was created with advanced abilities of one of the newer ports?). Great landscape/architectu re, texturing, good gameplay, sounds, balancing, detail, not very linear design. But watch it, you can get lost (by means of lost in a map sometimes and in beauty). I really have enjoyed this one and I suppose everyone does as well if you haven't already. 5/5 Cacodemon

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
