About This File

Death Tormention 3, complete Episode 4 replacement for Ultimate Doom. If you thought the original Death Tormention episodes were hard, well think again!. DT3 takes Ultimate Dooming to an all new level when it comes to challenge, architecture and gameplay. Bought to you by Paul Corfiatis (Ulverstone, Tasmania) and Kristian Aro (Helsinki, Finland).

Your mission is to escape from hell, and board a spaceship to destroy some big Spiders. Getting past Carmen is simple, but getting through the body of Satan is alot more demanding. The further you go, the darker it gets in DT3 until you end up in Space. But will you be lost in Space when you get up there??

You now have everything to worry about because you are gonna get ya bitchy arse ripped to shreds for all time in DT3 complete with huge levels, evil architecture, darkness and virtually no computer technology. At least there is some electricity to keep indoor areas dimly lit.

this is a generally interesting mapset that you can see all the tropes both Paul and Kristian usually do. good for those who want the generally decent E4 replacement. E4M5 is the big one, but the other maps in this wad aren't bad. would've loved to get more use out of the hell knight spectre though.

The best DT episode, even with E4 feel compromised by different textures toward the end. Still great architecture, lots of fun, and big levels make this an absolute no-miss! 5/5

Without any question, the best E4 replacement I've ever played. The theme didn't get boring, the maps took a long while to finish (E4M5 was a favorite), the secret level(s) were pretty cool and the boss map was original, creepy and very very hard. I wish there was a DT4, can't get enough of PC and Kristian 's wads! 5/5 - Moti

Excellent maps. Particularly levels 3 and 5, with the difficulty level near perfect and the gameplay even better. Many thanks for your hard work.

It took me 8 minutes to complete e4m1, 10 minutes to complete e4m2, 18 mins to complete e4m3, 22 mins to complete e4m4, 40 mins to complete e4m5, 20 mins to complete e4m6, 20 mis to complete e4m7 and 15 mins to complete e4m8 with savegames. IT would be fun to see these being played at for example compet-n or something. The maps were so much fun and pretty challeinging as well. 5 stars

Pretty fun. I liked the overall level design. I didn't like how dark the last level was though. 4/5

One of the best UD episodes ever. Certainly the best of the DT series (sad this is the last one) and the best E4 replacements out there. The levels are medium to huge (mostly large to huge) is size, look awesome (the use of Doom2 textures occasionally in a UD wad is a good idea) and are a good challenge but lots of fun. This really could be commercial quality. 5 stars in every department, so go play it!!!!!!

An ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE of a wad, this and P:AR are IMO the 2 best Doom I/UDoom episodes of all time. Clearly what E4 itself should have been - I'm not saying that E4 sucked or anything - but these levels (and in fact most of the DT series but this one in particular) - put the originals to shame! Instant 5/5, and too bad there will never be (or at least isn't planned to be) a DT IV!

Legendary! Death Tormention 3 far exceeds the quality of it's predecessors. you can tell a lot of work went in to this. E2M6 is quite possibly my new all-time favorite map. The twin Cyberdemons are how boss battles should be, and the detail is beautiful in this map. Kristian Aro did an incredible job. Paul Corfiatis made the mistake of placing bosses in cramped spaces several times, but his maps were also epic. This pack is definitely in my top 5. 5/5

Bugs (?) on first level. I got the machine gun, but no further progress. Otherwise - it seems pretty damn average of what i'd seen.

Yeah this is the stuff that keeps me interested in Doom. Great work Paul, again. I've read you're planning on getting a life and if you do, please continue to include Doom in that life ;) Azriel

Something coming from Paul and Christian is always legendary!!! I played both of the previous episodes, and they were simply awesome. So, this one must be of the same quality, as usual. 5/5 to be sure to don't miss it! - Jive

I've only played until the beginning of the third level, but five stars so far; the first two levels at least are tough but fair. On a tangent, I've always felt a vague unease whilst chainsawing the flying skulls, because they aren't made of meat. You can't lacerate bone. Wouldn't the chainsaw just slide off? Or shatter them?

I simply love those wild easter eggs in Doom WADs. Now who the hell is Carmen? Let me guess: an ex-girlfriend you hate?! Same old story.. ;)

I love it. Maybe the E4M8 has some gameplay issues, but still the best ultimate doom episode I have ever played. 5/5 - Damned

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?
