About This File

A Doom2 wad so close to our store that after playing it a few times you may be a little nervous while walking through the real store. You might feel a little DEU ja va, that feeling that you've shot up this room before.

for a wad from 1997, it's not horrible, but it's not really good either. the blue key is hidden in a mandatory secret, and the vast majority of enemies, of which there are a fuckload of, are either hitscanners or imps with a few larger enemies scattered throughout (along with a SMM and cyber). the only real difficulty comes from the fact that there's very little health on the map.

i will say that the custom textures are alright-ish, and i assume that the map is actually accurate to the bookstore. i have no idea if it is or not tho, cuz i don't live in florida.

also, for some reason this of all things was the first pwad i ever downloaded. i have no idea why.

This is dated February 2006, although it's actually from 1997. It's one of a handful of old wads where the website is still around and still being updated, although it no longer mentions Doom. As for the level, you slaughter 284 mostly weak baddies in a miniature town-style map - really just two buildings in a field. It's incredibly simplistic but also therapeutic simply because you get a chance to mow down hundreds of weak baddies.

I guess it's ok. It's basically a pretty big bookstore(?) with a handful of baddies. Kids, reading hurts your eyes, don't do it!

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
