About This File

This is a wad that I made for my first upload. The level is quite small, but there is quite a lot of detail. The monsters are everywhere, so use the super shotgun and kill them!

This level is too short and its style is too much like AgentSpork's (ugh!), but it was still a refreshing change of pace from some crappy levels I had been playing. A nice first upload. 3/5

Pretty good, though I'd still say average. It looked nice, though the gameplay was nothing special (but at least it didn't suck horribly =P). I don't really see why people complain that a map is too similar to someone else's style; I like Agent Spork's style and therefore I like this map. =) -Tango

The gameplay was well orchestrated, making this small map enjoyable and definitely above average.

This is one of those modern levels with a cool blue palette that makes everything look pastel. It's fun, but very small; it would work as part of a megawad. Problems include far too much ammo, a repetitive design, and some traps that are much too easy - I almost laughed when a gate closed behind me and then, gasp, three imps teleported in! Three imps! The toughest baddy is right at the start. Solid, good-looking design though.

Good level, though it is very easy with plenty of ammo and health. 4/5 -pc

Looks *very* nice indeed, especially for a first level. The only complaints I have is that it's too short and too easy. :) (And AgentSpork is great, so whoever made the third review, shut up. :))

Download the REAL file here (rd1.zip is NOT correct) https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/megawads/d64d2   Shocked to see so many negative reviews. I had an absolute blast with this one, and I'm not sure what Nems was talking about with the Boom stuff as this runs in Doom2.exe with no trouble. In fact, there is a TON of impressive vanilla stuff going on here. I guess it was so well done that it tricked him.   This deserves a high score. It's a lot of fun.

It definitely makes Doom look darker, but also slightly changes colors (it reminds me PSX Doom). I prefer original Doom colors and miss how it looked on CRT (almost same colors as with modern monitors, but less brightness and maybe more contrast).

Great spirit/item placements, and also nice trap placements. Textures are georgeous and scream "1980's sci-fi action movie".

Some very cool techbases with a nice texture set and pallette.  The music is pretty epic.  And it all runs in vanilla! (Or so it is said, I played it in GZDoom)

I honestly can't believe that this whole megawad is 100% vanilla compatible and its only the first of THREE episodic megawads! Esselfortium and her team of creative energetic mappers has done an amazing job from the unique texture set, the music, the maps & even the tweaked color palette that fits the mood of the whole thing.    100% highly recommended! 5/5
