About This File

My second ZDOOM wad. Hopefully better than the first. :p If you played the first one you'll know what to expect.

Perfect 1 level wad! The new graphics are very beautiful here too. It's the amazing sequel of hti!

I'd say that it wasn't great, but wasn't bad. It looked very nice if you ask me (it was one of the few wads that actually make me feel like I was in a castle), but the gameplay was the only thing that discouraged me. It just seemed like there were too many 'randomly' placed monsters throughout the room. I don't find linearity bad, and I didn't in this case either. The Wad was pretty good, just lacks a bit on the gameplay-side of things. -Tango

Very impressive, but there's not enough ammo in the end, and there's a couple of smaller errors, too - for example, I occasionally get messages about unknown scripts, text was too wide for the screen, and so on. Still, 4/5

I don't see what everybody is whining about. That was excellent! The music was great and the gameplay wasn't lacking in any way I could describe. If there had to be a problem with it, it would be the end boss not standing up to the challenge the rest of the wad presented. 5/5

Giving it 5 stars cause it needs a higher rating than 3 stars I want to see more levels like this

I found myself reaching the quit-menu for a few times, but played the whole level instead quitting. The design was somewhat boring with some places where you could drop in but couldn't get up. Replayability is near zero as said in review. Not bad, not good either

Yey, I might be one of those "idiots" who are overly obsessed for details, but still I was expecting something much more extreme for the size but still it's quite nice looking :) And the gameplay was ok but nothing special. I enjoyed Rylyaeh much more in terms of gameplay! 4/5 - Optimus

This map is very much the same as the first part, with a very similar gameplay, the same monsters and also the same ambience (a cathedral-like, gothic style ambience). So, you can either be disappointed to see nothing new here, or simply enjoy another great and excellent work, with a nice creepy atmosphere. It has some small glitches, but overall it's a very impressive map, but drops a bit in comparison to its predecessor. 4.5/5 -Milian

Excellent work. The map itself was a little tame, but overall atmosphere made up for that. Possibly a little too Hexen / medieval for my liking, but those are the only minor flaws I can find. Needs to be a megawad... 4.5/5

The end monster battle alone was worth it, AWESOME boss monster! Great overall work, 5/5. -Fanatic

Tons of roaming monsters, unplanned battles with targets only in front of you; dozens of randomly placed custom monsters - rather than good usage of default ones - not to talk about extreme infighting; usage of only one generic texture (the infamous Gothic gray bricks) and almost no light variations... meh (2/5) -- ellmo

I didn't like the original, and whilst I find this one just as linear and symmetrical with the same basic flaws, it was a little more enjoyable. 3/5 FP

the best is the great castle atmosphere and good sounds, the usage and placement of monsters are not good 3.5/5

Forgettable except for the massive filesize.

Not bad but not great either. Was fun to fight against a bunch of custom monsters, and the scripting was pretty nice, but the actual level was pretty bland, and ammo was very very lacking. Also jumping games in Doom levels = bad idea. Still giving this a 4/5 though because it's worth downloading for the 'action movie' atmosphere.

Great atmosphere, boring layout, annoying gameplay, bloated filesize due to tons of custom monsters. 2/5.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.
