About This File

An small mapset containing 7 maps in total I made for Lutrov's 1024 contest. All maps are playable from pistol start, or play through them in one go its up to you. Ive really enjoyed making these maps and I hope you will enjoy playing them. UV is pretty tough so you might want to choose an lower skill level first its very easy on skill 1/2. I hope you will like map07 on UV from pistol start :) its hard but you can beat it.

Great map-set. Because the map dimensions are small, they have that "cute" feel to them and It makes the little details all the more important which you got spot on. Recommended for fans of small compact, detailed maps. -TRRobin.

These 7 maps show a brilliant level of details. Some ideas even made me gasp as a mapper, like giving the Doom II gargoyle textures blue eyes. There's an idea and a lot of diligence to be found in every small corner. Thumbs up for the mapping work. The other part, gameplay, is excellent, too. It's not overly hard, but you need to be agile and careful nontheless. It provides a constant flow of fair and challenging battles.. Excellent work! 4.5/5 -Milian

Nice little mapset. I prefer the first 3 or 4 maps and map 7, I felt the the ones inbetween got a little bit samey. Still good stuff though 4/5 FP

Great, without a doubt. Would absolutely love to see a megawad with bigger levels made out of this. -- 5/5

Map07 should have had a third wave, of revenants perhaps.

Great fun, although it should really be in the plain old single-player directory (from now until the end of time it will languish, overlooked, in the wasteland that is Doomworld's deathmatch directories). Very short maps but that's deliberate; map07 isn't *that* hard, you just have to keep moving. Moving and killing, just like real life - if you're a shark, that is. I'm not a shark but I enjoyed these levels. Sharks can't type.

Besides the Congestion 1024 megawad itself, this is, I think, the best 1024-based wad I've played so far. Architecture and design is spot on for the obviously small size of the levels, and gameplay offers a constant but fair flow of challenges. I don't know why these maps didn't make the Congestion wad, but I'm pretty sure it was not for anything relating to their quality. Can't wait for Claustrophobia!

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
