About This File

Someone in #zdoom asked me to make this a few months ago, and someone in #dmclub asked me to upload it for some reason.

I've seen worse crap than this. However, this map was still pretty lame and pointless.

500 switches, and the scream gag at the end. Well, I'm all for weird wads, but this really takes the cake. It's truly the work of a diseased mind that I'm sure was far more fun to dream up and discuss than it ever will be to play.

fffuuuccckkk!!! It's one of those maps that can literally annoy the sanity out of you. I'm going to have nightmares about switches! And the music didn't help either. But ill give it a 2/5 just for being the most annoying map iv'e ever played. -r_rr.

This is dated August 2006. It's a concept level that consists of a long straight corridor. There's one switch at the end of the corridor and 499 more switches along the walls (presumably there are 250 on one wall and 249 on the other). No baddies. You flick all the switches and then you get the famous internet screaming face. As a playable level it's not much fun. As a Beckett-esque rumination on pointlessness it would get five stars if the lighting was dimmer.

The absolute retardedness of the switchhunt completely numbed my mind so that I wasn't even so much as startled by the screamer. This is pretty much the archetype of all zdoom maps nowadays: you press a billion switches only to be assaulted with a shitty ending. 0/5

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
