About This File

20 shortish levels split into three episodes: Rear Entry, Knee Deep in the Sludge and Into the Blood

"The Source" - That's what they call it. No one quite knows what it is, apart from the birthing grounds of the monstrous army that invaded your planet. Your team was sent to destroy it, but the way in was heavily guarded, and now only you survive. You'll have to find another way in...

The maps are all relatively small with 2 min par times as average. all are designed to be demo friendly, possible from a pistol start and reasonably challenging on UV.

really was not impressed with this. new enemies don't seem to work right sometimes, and the journey was pretty easy. not a whole lot of weapon choice either, but I liked the sword.

Quite a nice pack. There are some weak maps in the third episode (Map13-15 in particular IMO), but otherwise the levels are all well designed and nice to look at. The themes of the episodes keep the structure of this wad organized well. Difficulty is neither unreasonable hard or easy. Every level is small or maybe low medium in size and to the point, so if you are a fan of other wads like this such as Scythe, 1024, and DFear, then this is a must-have; otherwise, it is certainly worth a play. 4/5

I enjoyed this. It's short and sweet, like a sexy midget. The levels are simple and good-looking, with a "seamless" design, and the gameplay whizzes along. It includes a surprisingly useful dagger, and adds a scimitar that replaces the berzerk fist. There are some modified monsters. The maps generally work in Zdoom with a few quirks, e.g. on map04 a switch is missing. The dark sewer levels in "E2" were a bit of a let-down though (the dark sewer bits are the wad's main failing).

This is a progressive wad. A growing challenge with some new monsters in it; it'll keep you up until the end. Great ideas like the orb levels set. Like the junior Cacodemons s lot. On the downside, it was VERY EASY, I mean, VERY. And I could have use another weapon, I mean, the rocket launcher being the final and last weapon you find is a bit deceiving, as much as not seing any BIG GUARDIAN monster. Otherwise, Really Good. Really good one. Great design, good ideas. Although a bit hard and there is not much health and maybe no armor at all. And the final boss is a bit too hard imho. 4.5/5 - Optimus

Not bad at all. Some letdown maps later on, but generally high quality in all departments. - Erik A

The levels kick ass up until the end. Some of the last maps are low detail, looking boring with some poor game play to go with it. I like the new textures and the new monsters, or the new colored monsters I should say. 7/24/07

One of the classic megawads, and the successor to TNT Evilution. I've played this several times over the years, and its grown on me more with each play as my tastes mature.   Still has a bunch of maps that got me killed in 2024, after ive finished stuff like HR and AV, and plenty of maps are memorable. Only real downsides is some of the levels have little content, showing its age.

One of the earliest Doom user maps and It shows. Despite the raw and empty design, the author take a good use of 3D space creating a small fortress surrounded by mountains, the level Is fun to play and not hard. A fancy escapade and a piece of modding history.

Third and final released map of a WIP episode by David Rager, it's more long, complex and hard than the previous entries in the series. A well made map with pretty challenging parts with a mix of monster usage, envoirnmental hazards and some puzzle gameplay. Fun but pretty harsh.

Two more misplaced DM maps without a exit like QUDOOM (that at least had a exit room, while not functional) that caught me by their file name and leave me for the bad experience in SP. Chicken is just a long bridge between a thundering abyss where cyberdemons wants to destroy you, meh. Gangstar is a more fun map sets in a big, abstract warehouse where a cyberdemon roam free trying to kill you, shotgunners and lost souls are here in this Hell corner adding more pain to the thing, enforced by semi-hidden mazes, my favorite.

This is like the physical version of the "we have X at home" meme in DM map format for Quake E1M1. Very poorly made, broken exit and missing textures here and there but at least the level KINDA resembles the original source somehow.
