About This File

I signed up for the DAC. It died. My map didn't :P Basically I've gone for a silly sort of christmas theme and went for a few new twists. If you can stand ugly mapping, the innovation of the ski slope should be fun :P You have to play through the staged traps and challenges, putting up with a demon who thinks he's Santa Claus (you won't meet him, but he's the one sending the messages that start "Ho ho ho!", in order to collect the keys and leave this snowy hell. No difficulty settings, as it's quite easy anyway (IMO).

Solid: simple, yet exciting and really REALLY memorable! A gem among Christmas WADs.

Really good christmas map from an underrated mapper (just check out his CC3 map if you don't believe me). Probably the best christmas wad out there, even if it does rip graphics from an old, obscure one. 5/5

The cacodemon is uh.... Anyway, I really liked this. It should have more levels, but oh well. Very good and a good use of zdoom features. 5/5 -Moti

Christmas wads are few and far between, and this one does it up right.

This won me over as soon as I saw the demons with santa claus hats. The caco is a giant christmas tree bauble and the imps throw snowballs. It's hard to judge the level however because these sprites come from elsewhere; once you strip away the graphics it's an entertaining but not spectacular hub-based map with three distinct gameplay areas (there's an arena, which is fairly easy, a dungeon which is tricky, and a novel ski slope which is frustrating but clever).

HAHA. Hilarious but I didn't like the beginning very much. Unfortunatelly it had screwed up in yellow key area. 2/5 - Zalewa - because it screwed up

Very good, but you can't use it with weapon mods because of a puzzle that requires a rocket launcher. Still, it's better than good. 5/5

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
