About This File

No more than your average techbase style map, taking place in the mountains or something (don't bother asking why there are no mountains in the sky). To begin with, this was merely a 100 minute speedmap created in August of 2006, but has obviously evolved into an undoubtedly superior map (to the original, that is). Thanks to Belial, the gameplay is heavily refined since the original (map02), and detail added by moi. If you're only an average skilled player, it might not be best to play this on Ultra Violence, though what do I know about the average skill level.

Hmmm... I don't know why, but something was missing in this map. It's a small map, very well detailed, with lots of monsters. It's challenging but ammo and health are enough to cope with the monster storm. Maybe it's the lack of progression that made this map feel very standard. A wave of monsters, you hit a switch, another wave of monsters come in, new room, new switch, new wave. And a big part of your problems can be solved by infighting. 3.5/5 -Milian

A nice looking, action-packed little level. There doesn't seem to be quite enough ammo to kill all the monsters without infighting, but then again, you can just rush to the exit after the cybie shows up. Map01 is a definite improvement on Map02. 4 stars.

Pretty average map that bring nothing new or really anything interesting to the table. Worth a play though. 3/5 -th0r

Moti your comment about the gameplay is quite stupid one. If there is a situation that needs some startegy or getting an infights, that automatically means a points down??? No, it suits perfectly here, finally I could see some good doom gameplay and layout that works so the 4 stars on this map get a full support from me.

5/5 simply for being a lot of fun to play. I hope Tango makes a lot more maps like this.

Pretty Good, a must download. The first level contains some great fights, and good architecture. The second map is an older version of the first map and I actually like it pretty much too. 5 Stars -PC

The Tango I know can do better. The music and detail was great and promising, but at the red key (i think it was red) part, you get raped by like 10 revenants and a cyberdemon, and you only have SSG and some rockets. 3/5 -Moti

Well I thought the new map was overpopulated with enemies, which to me is not logical for a small map. I also thought the facelift, while nice, was not entirely necessary because the original map looked okay and, in general terms, improved aesthetics don't impress as much as revamped level structure, which I noticed did not change at all from the original. Still, don't let these comments daunt you. I thought this was a terrific map.

It is miracle, that you could build this map (map02) in only 100 minutes. The revamped version is nicelooking full action and quite hard map and I truely enjoy it. Better 4 stars. ;) - Damned

This map is okay, especially after the boost in difficulty. The older version was just too easy and dull. The one thing I'd criticise is the excessive linearity or lack of complexity: You open each area consecutively and most doors or devices are locked till you activate them. [3/5] (the old one would have been worth only 2/5) ~Chain Mail

Map01 shows how too much reworking of a map can render it into a generic and forgettable blastfest. Map02, while crude, has a certain rough charm to it, which was obliterated by the restructuring into Map01.

This is an entertaining, compact little map. The design is simple and clean, and there aren't any overtly port-specific bits. It's quite hard, and I didn't like the tiny ammo loadout; the level is almost like a puzzle game at times, because you have to start off a lot of monster infighting near the start especially. You had best run past the cyberdemon. Map02 is like a good fun blast from 1995, but frustratingly it goes the other way because it's too easy.

I actually prefer the older version. The newer one is so overdone it's practically a joke wad. Might work as part of a megawad but not very fun as a single map. -sargebaldy

0/5 because Belial is mentioned in .txt file!!!111 Seriously: Playtested on UV. The flow is great but sometimes I run very low on ammo (I even had to skip few last monsters and flee to exit). I like the way textures are used. Sometimes it gets difficult but not to the point that I get annoyed by unfair strength of enemies. Keep up the good job Tango. 5/5 - Zalewa

Pretty Darn Good. Not much to say. It is very refined since the original and the use of Storm Eagle's theme (Mega Man X, the first one) made me think it was more in the sky or something. 4/5

Another good map from Tango made way back before I actually visited Doomworld. A fun one to blast through, though some will find the ammo balance irritating to the max. Still, good visuals and a solid layout keep the monsters coming and shows continued early development from this dude. 7/10 -Snakes

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
