About This File

This is my second level for Doom2. In this map you must try to win World War 2 all by yourself.

Ignore Maes's dumbshit comment, he's using zdoom with the lost soul limiter turned off. Like one of the previous reviewers said, the pain elementals basically become useless after about five seconds and you can just run along the wall and kill the romero head in 60 seconds or under. Why is it after 17 years we still get shitty maps that are serious and not jokes?

This is a NUTS-style map, basically a big square arena divided into a grid with columns. You get an arsenal of weapons at the beginning and you have to reach the end. The author doesn't specify a source port - in fact this isn't even in the ports subdirectory - and so if you run this in vanilla Doom the monster count remains surprisingly low, because the Pain Elementals can only shoot so many lost souls. Unfortunately it's not as manic as NUTS, or as new.

It's not a good map at all, and also rather easy, much as Nuts.wad is. Should only take about half a minute to exit.

Wow....this must be the only NUTS.WAD-themed map where the monster counters increase CONTINUOUSLY all the time due to the insane numbers of Pain elementals, there's just no friggin' way this can be completed with normal weapons, so eventually this will flood your b0x and crash it after 2-3 minutes of continuous spawning. 1/5 just for the amazement. -Maes

This is just insane, the kills counter went from 3800-ish to over 28000 in just a couple of minutes. Because it made me laugh 1 point. 1/5 -jb

Hey jb!, you finally got to laugh (LOL)! Anyway now with the review, oh my goodness so many bloody monsters, over 3000 damn monsters!. This is something inbetweenn Nuts and Hell Revealed. This map can be completed by running up the side wall and ripping the Romero Head. But this is much more insane than Dqey's first map! 0.5 Stars -PC

What's all this about impossible and rising lost soul count? I just beat with 100% in 13:30. Most of that was running around mopping up the Keens. One reason the count rises is because of the arch viles. Other than that, easy. Very easy. 3/5 because it doesn't suck any more than Nuts.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
